We are doing this for the same reasoing – I want to get my thank you cards out right away and don’t want to wait for the prof photos, and our e-pics have been used in practically nothing. I don’t think it’s weird at all.

I was complaining the other day that we hadn’t gotten a thank you from the wedding we attended in July, and now that I think about, I bet they are waiting for pictures. I don’t want my guests, who aren’t aware of that sort of thing, to think I am just being rude and/or lazy.

I did pictures from our wedding day for our thank you cards and like you said it took a while.  I had to wait 2 months for the pictures to come in, then order the cards then write all of them out, so in the end it took almost 3 months for my thank you cards, which I was kinda upset about. What I thought of (not til we were on our honeymoon of course) that I should’ve had either my Mother-In-Law or cousin (who both have really nice cameras) to take the pictures so that I could either order the cards before our honeymoon or right after. So you could do that, even if you don’t know someone that has a really nice camera, a normal digital camera will work because its not like the card is big.  I got so many compliments on our thank you cards, so I would do it if I were you! Here’s ours…
