I recently somehow ended up on those two sites… they are wholesalers from China… I really want to buy a dress from that site since it is a lot cheaper than anywhere else but they do not accept credit card payments…so I am kind of scared since I do not feel comfortable wiring money to China…I haven’t seen any bad reviews or good reviews about these sites so I was just wondering if anyone has any experiences with them.
The dresses on the sites are a lot cheaper! what do I do? help please!

I bought a dress from Lightinthebox.com and I love it! I have heard some horor stories of buying dresses from china. I would be cautious if they website has the original designers photos of the dresses!

DoDressMe.com is a COMPLETE FRAUD. They sent me the lowest quality of dress that I have ever seen in my life. My daughter tried on the real version of this dress in stores and the rdress that DoDressMe sent me looked absolutely nothing like the real dress. The embroidery isn’t even sewn on all the way. The minimual amount of beads used were the cheapest beads possible and then the biggest part of the dress – the material. The material is like cheap bedding material. The entire bottom of the dress is supposed to be tulle to make it light and airy, but there is one single layer of disgusting tulle on the bottom portion of the dress. This site is especially disturbing because they have an entire section on each page dedicated to tell customers to beware of other websites that make cheap material. The real website that you should beware of is this one. They claim to have a 7-day satisfactory guarantee poicy, however both I and my daughter tried to contact everyone we possibly had email addresses for that are affiliated with DoDressMe ever since we received the dress a month ago (including the 7 days immediately following) to try to set up a return of the dress and my money, and no one has ever contacted me in response ever. We have since gone as far as filing a claim with Paypal Fraudulent Investigations. I plan on aggressively persuing my attempts in contacting DoDressMe.com in attempts to settle with them and return the dress to them for a refund of my money. My advice to anyone is to NEVER buy from this online site. I have ordered dresses from other websites and .they turned out amazing and their customer service was everything that DoDressMe.com claimed that they were. DoDressMe.com is FRAUDULENT and is taking advantage of American money and their own customers. NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM!
However, I bought my daughter’s bridesmaids dresses off of StoreofDress.com. They have been absolutely amazing. We actually originally bought my daughter’s wedding dress off this site too but she changed her mind (of course), so we cancelled the order. They were lovely at this time too, as our money was returned shortly after and the woman that handles all of the customer service issues, Kate is absolutely amazing. She does everything in her power to make the customers happy, response within one day to your emails, and even calls you back. This site is located in China too! She was great. Anyways, we got the bridesmaids dresses from this site as well, and there was a slight misunderstanding with the order at first, but it was resolved by Kate yet again in an appropriate time frame. We just got the dress about a week ago and they look EXACTLY like the pictures they used (designer’s runway pictures). I would absolutely recommend StoreofDress.com over and over. This site is everything that DoDressMe.com CLAIMS to be.

I don’t know about either of those sites, but a while back a photographer I modeled for ordered a copy of a Maggie Sottero through one of the ebay sellers from China and the dress was dismal looking… dingy in color, smelled like smoke, and looked nothing like the dress. We actually called it the “Corpse Bride” dress because it just looked so dingy… like had a dusty gray tone. The real dress was lace, this one was that weird sheer material they used to make drapes out of with lace appliques sewn on. The cut seemed right, but flimsy in the bodice with no boning to stabilize the corset back. It worked for the purpose of a photo shoot to build his portfolio, but seeing it in person made me realize that I would really do my research before buying a knock-off from China.
That being said, I have occasionally seen posts from other brides that had great experiences with their China copies….

@batzmaroo: I would ignore the opinion of jennifer80. My guess is that this poster is affiliated with the company dodressme.com and is trying to put in a good word here.
