Hi bees! We’re in the process of looking for a tuxedo for my fiance, and I was wondering if anyone has used StudioSuits.com? The website has you put in a million measurements, and the tuxes are cheap — only $99 to buy one! I’m worried that the quality will be poor with such a low price.
Has anyone gotten a tux or a suit from them? Was it well made? How was the material? Did it fit him?

I plan on using them. Many of the ladies at BDW forum used them with good experience. It’s actually because of those reviews that I will be ordering from them:

Yes, I just ordered a linen suit from them for my fiancé, pants, vest, and jacket. It came better than I expected!!! Fits him amazing, he’s very slim so we echoes slim fit pants. The linen is a cotton blend, so the quality is way better than I expected. It’s looks so great on him!! I would definitely order from them again! We are ordering the lwaist pants and vest set for $89 for our groomsmen. The full suit with the jacket for my fiancé was $200, then I paid $20 in duty to get it across the border ( I’m in Canada) which is awesome for a custom made suit. from the day I ordered it to the day it was delivered was 2 weeks!! So quick. Definitely recommended!

We’re putting in an order TONIGHT for FI’s suit! I’m so excited I can cry!!

We used makeyourownjeans.com for our suits. They turned out great.
Just a tip – make sure that the guys included anything that they normally have issues with in the notes section. BIL has big thighs and usually has to buy bigger pants to fit them which he neglected to tell me when we ordered. Luckily found a matching pair of pants at Macy’s!

@Spanglbee: would you mind sharing some details about the suit? I am thinking about getting a similar dark khaki color suit.
Which color/fabric is the suit?
Did you have the pants lined?
Did you like the pants pleating and back pocket style you picked?

@kelseymac: I ordered the Glen Check Linen suit with the added waistcoat. I didn’t line the pants because I thought that would be too hot. We chose flat front, and cross style pockets, 2 welted back pockets, and 2 button jacket style. Very happy with our choices. The things I would do differently would be a double vented coat (we ordered single) and 4 jacket cuff buttons (we ordered 2)

We ordered for groomsmen through Studio Suits. I am just panicking that the groomsmen will order on time. Lazy group…

@Spanglbee: Great, thanks so much for the details!

I was curious about the Cotton Linen (+$25) vs. Pure Linen (+$56). I was also thinking the pant lining might be neccisary since we’re doing the lighter “Tropical Rome Beige” color and I was worried about the pants being see-thru (especially if the guys wear dark undergarmets).
My wedding is in exactly 7 weeks today! Sept. 1st so I am extrememly concerned about timeframe.
Anyone actually order the waistcoat/trouser set $89 which really comes out to around $125 now?
Thanks for any feedback!!!

@Spanglbee: Any tips on taking and sending the measurements?
@beachbride1216: just saw your message sorry! Did you order yet? I just followed the pics on the site for how to measure. They have detailed instructions and a photo for each measurement to take. some of the measurements I took from existing pants. My only suggestion would be to get it maybe 0.5-1″ longer than you measure. We had a few of the guys that their pants were a tiny bit short. They actually do make a rather large hem, so it can be let down for more length which is good. They do an awesome job. The guys all looked soooooo great on our wedding day 🙂 I’ll post some photos when we get them back from the photographer, hopefully this week!!!!

Run – fast! I placed an order on January 31, 2014 for two suits; one was a linen suit to wear on the beach in Hawaii, and the other one was a wool suite to wear for my wedding coming up on March 1st. I was guaranteed delivery no later than February 14. The linen suit arrived on February 10. The material is terrible – very sub-par, stiff and itchy – and it looks like a drunk person stitched the suit.
As of today, February 18th, I have not yet received an update on my second suit for my order #31970. As such, I emailed StudioSuits to cancel my second suit.
This was the response I received from “Anna:”
“Kindly note, your Order is “Into Production”.
Please note, we have informed the factory about your order, they will look into this and ship it by this weekend.
You will get a mailer from our end the day when your order will be shipped stating the tracking details.
Let us know for any other assistance you require from our end.
Thanks and Regards

I am a university professor and I have had many, many custom-made suits over the years. The quality of the suits from StudioSuits is simply terrible – almost as poor as the company’s customer service.
I am completely unsatisfied and I am demanding a refund for my second suit.
Run, and run fast…

Studio Suits is cheap for a reason–their work quality is awful, and customer service is non-existent. Nearly all of the work they have done for me was slapdash and fit poorly. And I’m not the only one–check out all the people that have reported poor experiences on Indochino: http://www.indochino-review.com/2011/09/studiosuitscom-review.html
