Hi there, welcome to WeddingBee! There are quite a few brides that went with Chinese Replica makers for their dresses including myself. I went through Jeff Liu (April’s Bridal) and had a wonderful experience. I suggest you search for “China dress”, “replica dress”, etc in the search bar to see lots of reviews on various dressmakers. Good luck!

@elisminkstole: Did you order from Milly’s Bridal?

My reception dress is currently in alterations.  I ordered via Duosheng/smtwedding store(Ebay) .  Great service and the dress is beautiful.  Some minor bodice issues that are currently being fixed by my seamstress.  The dress is fully lined, bodice boning, and crioline added to the skirt.  Will definitely order again. Here’s pics:

Hey there!

I ordered my Eden gown online from an American company called http://www.romanticgowns.com (based out of Ohio).  I received it and it’s beautiful, not to mention that it was VERY budget-friendly at under $400.  I think the quality is really great, and I don’t think anyone would ever know that that is all that I paid for it.  Definitely check out the return/exchange policies before ordering!

Customer service was very nice & helped me decide what size I needed to order based on my measurements (since I was kind of between two sizes).  The size I ordered is a little big but I think it will look awesome once I get the dress altered.

I have two dresses from dressily.com.  I had them made “custom” to my measurements.  I think that is the best way to go.  And then you will probably need them to be altered once you have them.  But thats easily within the budget from what you will save.

I ordered my dress from China and it was a complete disaster.  The material was cheap and scratchy, a man-made satin.  Make sure you ask for REAL satin, which will increase your price a bit, but will be worth it.  They style of my dress was fine, a few bad stitches, but I ended donating it and buying a dress from a boutique.  It’s tough to buy something you can’t try on.  I know brides that have had wonderful experiences, though.

Check this out, it has some GREAT advice that I wished I would have read before ordering my dress online:  http://www.thebrokeassbride.com/2011/07/chinese-made-wedding-gown-review/
