@avenison:  My dress is pink.  Pink is my favorite color, I don’t consider myself a traditional bride (it’s an interracial lesbian wedding), and I just don’t like white dresses.  Sorry the pic is so huge.

I am still debating between a light peach dress versus a white dress myself. If I pick to do white for the ceremony, the peach one will be my reception dress. Colors are awesome!! 🙂 The only problem is, what color should the veil be should I wear peach for the ceremony. I have a peach veil, but somehow, it doesn’t seem right.

@tuesdaychild:  I’ve been struggling with this very same question.  I bought extra fabric from the dress designer so that I could have a veil made, but I don’t know.  I tried it on with an ivory veil that I purchased before I bought my dress (stupid, I know), and it actually looks very nice together.  I don’t know about a pink veil/dress (or peach veil/dress) combo.

@avenison: I thought I would be wearing ivory (ivory was better than white with my skin tone). Then I tried on MS Divina in blush. I fell in love with the idea of a pink dress. I’m having my dress custom made by Jasmine Bridal Shop so that I can get the style dress I want (VW Gemma inspired) but in blush. So I ordered fabric samples for color choice and I found a pretty color but something was off about it.

Then I saw a bee on here trying on the VW Gemma in red. I live in LA so I went right to the VW flagship to try it on. This was the first and only wedding dress I’ve tried on and I said “Now this is a dress I would wear”. I was getting so frustrated b/c I kept trying on wedding dresses and they all looked good on me (not to sound full of myself, just the structure of wedding dresses tend to make the best of everybody’s body), but I never felt “this is my dress”.

So, next step is to order more fabric samples from JBS to have the Gemma inspired dress made in red! My brother said no to a red dress, “it’s like a ball gown”…but seriously, am I going to balls every weekend? Some people say that this is your only chance to wear a big white/ivory dress. I think this is my only chance to wear an absolutely fabulous/grand dress and I can not help but to feel great, look great, and be so happy in a red dress.

Every bride should look and feel their best on their wedding day. The groom doesn’t care about the dress, they care about their love being happy. Because you can wear anything but if you’re smiling you will look your best.
