I was a jewellery store purchasing a birthday present for my mother last year when the female salesperson saw my engagement ring (I was wearing my emerald one) and just grabbed my hand and held it up to her face. Then, without letting go of my hand, she lead me over to the owner so they could both look at it.

Lol I was in a bit of a shock that I didn’t really say anything.

It could be that they themselves are considering making a ring purchase soon! I know my Fiance started paying attention to my friend’s and relative’s rings before he proposed and asking to see them close up. I wouldn’t take offense to it! They may be just trying to learn more about rings while admiring yours!

@SoNLoveWithHim:  Lol I don’t think many people have even really looked at my ring! I got compliments on my engagement and compliments on my wedding but nothing was said about my ring. I would be a little flattered to have someone actually examine it and take notice!

Previous posters gave goof reasons for why men may be more interested 🙂

Oh god. After reading this, I hope I dont freak people out. When somebody I know gets engaged or has a new ring, I always ask to see it (and I always look at it up close) then I compliment it. I love detail and thats the only way to see it. People spend so much time picking the exact ring because of its details, why on earth would you NOT want somebody to take the time and look at your ring to see its beauty!
