(Closed) Has UPS lost your package before?

Hmm, they lost one of my wedding gifts. They opened an investigation, found it was their fault, never located it. Someone had randomly bought us a pitcher from Tiffany’s, and UPS ended up simply calling Tiffany’s and having them send a new pitcher which they (UPS) paid for.  I never had to deal with cash/check or anything (as a note, the person who purchased it had to fill out the paperwork so I may be missing some details, but she said they said they’d handle it through the store)

@miksje130:  By The Way, I’m pretty sure what they mean by that is that they will only cover as much as you paid.  If you paid $500 and then it went on sale for $400, they’d pay the $400 rather than giving you $500 like you paid (meaning you get it for what you would have paid had they not lost the package, rather than getting the $100 discount from it later going on sale).  It is not going to be like they only refund you $449 if the cost of replacement is $1500.
