@Glasgowbound:  haha yes, you are totally fine.  dogs get into scuffles all the time and it sounds like you two handled it appropriately.  It was nice of you to go over and check on their dog, as it shows you’re a responsible owner.  Body language is whats important here- I’ve seen real dog fights before (at the dog park, no one’s fault, just dogs disagreeing) and you can TELL when dogs are fighting -vs- playing.  I’m sure you’re okay. 

Edit: when I say body language, I mean dog body language.  Sometimes dogs who are playing sound like they’re fighting.

@Glasgowbound:  Unless the other owner initiiates, then I would take no furhter action. It sounds to me like you’ve done the right thing, and I would not pursue it any further.

@Glasgowbound:  That’s usually how dogs play. When the hair on their back goes up or they are actually viciously snarling, then they are trying to fight. Rolling around on the ground is often just play time 🙂
