Made you want/like certain things you normally wouldn’t like. Like styles, colors. Only to find out that you are not staying true to yourself and going with whats “in” right now. I know it has done that to me, from the styles of dresses( oh do not get me or anyone else started lol) to colors. I am fun, outgoing and Fiance is too. We are a modern couple. I love bling and rich colors. I thought I liked rustic/vintage things. soft colors. But in my mind I am thinking I have never liked nor decorated/bought anything like that stuff. Its all over the wedding world so maybe I just want to fit in helllooooo SMP! I love vibrant colors so why not choose those for my winter wedding. I think if I was to have a spring wedding, Id do soft colors. Very southern charm feel, all lace dress. But now that we are on the winter train, I need something that stands out! Jewel tones!
http://pinterest.com/pin/22447698113125165/ yes! This can be very elegant.modern with some bling! My Maid/Matron of Honor is wearing black. Bc no matter how many times I have changed my colors(3) she can always wear black! Well 5 months out I need to but stuff, linens decor,Flower Girl dress. I need to commit. and NOW I am:) Happy ending.

mine is sorta the opposite. I kinda hate just going with trends, but about 6 years ago I fell in love with a picture on etsy of pinwheels made out of red and turquoise and knew those would be my colors.
It drives me CRAZY that they are such a popular combination right now, but changing just to be a bit different is just as bad as changing to do what’s popular

I would definately agree! Wedding planning has made me 2nd guess everything I’ve chosen! Fortunately, I’m glad I’ve changed my mind about some things and my wedding is turning out to have the beauty and potential it was meant to have in the first place. Our wedding colors are going to be apple green, truffle brown and ivory modern fall themed wedding when growing up I would have imagined a red black and white wedding (I probably would have went with the danmask look if Fiance didn’t despise red). My dress is simple but elegant and I am so in love with it when I originally thought I NEEDED to be covered in bling. I originally thought I NEEDED to be married in a garden in April when I’m going to be wed in my parents backyard on an acre of land by the lake during sunset in Nov. I NEVER imagined I would be serving BBQ for dinner but the meal I would have wanted would have been modeled after a Thanksgiving dinner and come time for my wedding, people would have been sick of eating this meal. We are still trying to keep it elegant with brisket being sliced not chopped and sauce on the side. Throughout this process, though, I’ve learned to make compromises, to give and take, and to pick my battles carefully because in the end, I’m still getting what I want; A beautiful wedding to remember and a wonderful husband to share the rest of my life with.

I’ve always been into DIY, vintage-y type stuff. So it’s both a blessing and a curse that it is so popular right now. There are some fantastic products/inspirations out there, but now it’s EVERYWHERE. Oh well.
I do see myself looking at other weddings and thinking I should do something like that, but then realize it doesn’t even fit into what we’re doing. Our wedding is simple, and I have to remind myself that everytime I want to add something, that makes it less simple.
