- Wedding: July 2011
Ladies, I just need to vent about life… particularly jean shopping. I usually keep about 4 pairs of jeans that I rotate: long and dark (to dress up), short and dark (for flats), and 2 pairs of lighter wash jeans for just hanging out.
Well, try as I may to avoid newlywed weight gain, I could not escape gaining about 10 lbs in the last 10 months since the wedding. (I’m working on it… Darling Husband and I joined a gym recently.) But since my jeans all have stretch in them I’ve kept wearing them, that is, until one light pair (the smaller of the 2) got a grease stain that I CANNOT get out, and Darling Husband discovered a big hole in the butt of the other.
So I’m down to my 2 dressy pairs of jeans. No good. I’ve been looking for replacements for about 2 weeks and am having a horrible time! I want one bootcut for ‘slimming’ and one straight cut for being a little more trendy. The biggest problem I’m having is that all the jeans are mid-rise now adays, which is supposed to be a good thing for the woman with a little too much stomach. They look great standing up; however, they all seem to cut into my stomach when I sit down. That, or bunch up in the pooch area, looking quite stupid.
Why won’t they just fit???? Do I need to buy petites?? I’m 5’4″ and have usually been ok in regular length jeans (ok, maybe they’re just a tinsy bit too long but I deal).
Anyway, like I said, I just wanted to vent a bit. If you made it all the way through, thanks for listening!
