i dont know what to do, the wedding is 10 weeks away. I went for my dress fitting today, she had cut the length and i tried it on with my shoes, we were discussing what to do with the top half and as i looked in the mirror.. I just felt a cloud of dread come over me,I hated it. I hated my dress. The way it falls just looks so odd, it looks like its full of creases because of the folds in it,and the bust detail is something i never would have gone for originally but when i tried it on in the shop it looked good and the price looked even better so i bought it.It’s plain, it has no train, I just feel boring in it, all i can see when i look at it is the creases and i think ‘why!? why did i buy this?!
I just feel so upset,I never get upset over these things and i feel shallow for caring but I honestly feel so ugly. I feel ugly in my dress and ugly in myself 🙁 I have no spare money for another dress and I just don’t know what to do. I think i’m having a low day but i’ve known for a while now that everytime i look at myself in the dress I love it less. I just wish for one day I could feel pretty, like a bride. I know the real reason for the wedding and I can’t wait to be married, but im dreading the wedding day and what im going to look like in that.. ‘curtain’ of a dress.Usually things like this i would ask my fiance and he would come out with the perfect answer and i would be ok,but i cant with this.
🙁 I just feel dreadful.is this normal?

@BefuzzledBee: Any way we can see a picture? Then we might be able to make some suggestions 🙂 I’m sure it is not as bad as you think!

It’s normal to be nervous about random things so close to your wedding, but I’m sure you look beautiful in your dress! Why don’t you post a picture, and let the Bees raise your spirits?

@BefuzzledBee: I’m sure what you’re feeling is pre-wedding nerves. We all have moments of doubt and days where we don’t feel our best, but you picked that dress for a reason, and I am sure it looks perfect. If you’re not totally happy with it, is there something you can do? Perhaps add a simple satin sash, or different jewelry?
Imagine how you’ll feel on the big day with fantastic hair, makeup, your flowers…
And, as others have said, post a picture, so we can put those jitters to rest!

its massive sorry, dont know how to resize. This is before it was fitted as it’s still with the seamstress at the moment so the only photo i have. 🙁 it needs taking in, but i still feel like it looks awful :/ please be honest bees, even if it isnt good news.

It looks just fine. I really like the pleating on the bust.

Well I’m being honest, and that dress is freakin gorgeous! You look absolutely beautiful sweetie! The beading at the bodice, the neckline…it all looks beautiful. I don’t personally think it’s plain or falls oddly on you at all. I think you’re definitely having one of “those” days. :/

Even without seeing the dress, I can tell you that part of the problem is that it doesn’t fit properly. That’s to be expected at the first fitting, and there’s a reason they always order to your largest measurement. It’s not because they want to make money off you, it’s because you can always take in, but you can’t make more fabric appear. So that first fitting is scary for most people.
Hah, you posted the dress while I was typing. And it’s a beautiful dress! Once it’s taken in and fits you like a glove, I’m sure you’ll love it again!

Ummm, your dress is beautiful and it fits you amazingly (even before the alterations). I think you’re just feeling stressed about the wedding being close and taking it out on your beautiful dress lol

@BefuzzledBee: It looks great and shows off your waist, but you should feel amazing and if you dont then find another dress. I think its beautiful and you may just be nervous

The dress looks lovely! I love the sweetheart and the detail up top, and I don’t think it looks full of creases at all! Be confident- you’re going to be beautiful! Add some statement jewelery, hide a kick ass pair of shoes underneath, and you’ve got yourself a great wedding look!

@BefuzzledBee: I was looking at the picture and I was at a loss for words. I was like, well, maybe her vision is blurry or something because she clearly looks amazing to everyone else!

Honestly… I think your dress is beautiful and looks great on you. I was really surprised when I saw the picture because from your post I was expecting something awful. I really don’t think its plain at all! Its not over the top, but is that what you are going for??
No one, especially your Fiance, is going to look at you in that dress and think anything other than ‘what a beautiful bride’
