@BefuzzledBee:  I really love your dress and I think you look amazing in it. I’m newly engaged and haven’t started dress shopping yet but is there a way to add some embellishment in a different way? Maybe a blingy hair piece or necklace?

Oh my gosh, I was totally ready to tell you it can’t be as bad as you think, and then I scrolled down and saw the photo and it is a BEAUTIFUL dress and looks GREAT on you, even pre-fitting. It’s gorgeous! This is totally not about the dress or how you look, it’s about what’s going on inside your head. Do you have a therapist you could talk to about this? *Hugs*

Based on your post, I expected the dress to be a bit of a mess. Honey — that dress is beautiful on you. Stunning, in fact. The sweetheart is gorgeous, the way it wraps around your waist is DIVINE, the embellishment under the bust is tasteful and eye-catching in a really good way, and the shape is beautiful on you … not to be creepy, but your hips look great. Basically, this dress does everything perfectly for your figure, and is pretty to boot.

I also do not think it is boring, nor is the skirt boring. I actually think the creases/pleat things are really cool and a fun way to make the skirt interesting without just blinging the heck out of it!

I think that it’ll be a different story when ti fits and when you get yoru accessories … accessories can completely transform a dress to become something even more special and spectacular.

I had a similar feeling about my dress, but once I got all dolled up with my hair and makeup and jewelry and everything and put it on I was like WOAH!  I felt beautiful in it and all regret faded away!  Any other time I had tried it on, my hair was a mess, I was pale ginger ale, and just felt ugly which made me feel like I had picked an ugly dress.  Your dress is stunning and it will be fabulous once you pull it all together…I promise!! ๐Ÿ™‚

@BefuzzledBee:  I think it is normal to doubt your dress or even your looks b/c there is so much pressure on us to look perfect that day so try not to stress out ( I know easier said than done) But to be honest you look smoking in your dress……you seriously look stunning in it!!

Your dress is beautiful!  I know how you feel, I just went through my own dress regret but all the wonderful Bees on here put things in perspective for me.  ๐Ÿ™‚  Its completely normal to think of the “what ifs” when it comes to your decision but just know that you chose it for a reason when you first put it on.  It really is beautiful, all the details you say that you dont like are what I love about it!  lol

Your dress is gorgeous!  Wait until your alterations are done and the dress fits you perfectly everywhere — you’ll really be able to envision your whole bridal look then.

I think this site causes a lot of dress doubt, because you are constantly bombarded with pictures of every dress imaginable.  I went through the same exact thing a few weeks ago when I tried on my dress and suddenly felt like it was too plain and boring.  Then, I tried it on again for a few people who got teary saying how unbelievable my dress is, elegant, classic, etc.  Your dress has the simple elegance that is stunning and never goes out of style.  It looks beautiful on you from the picture and trust me, you want the dress to make you a more beautiful you – you don’t want to get lost in the dress where it stands out more than you do.  There are a lot of trendy dresses right now that are just that.  Years from now, the pictures will look so dated.  Your dress has classic, simple lines, is extremely flattering in the bust area and the ruching makes your stomach look so flat and really emphasizes your waist.  You will be stunning in this dress!

First fittings are always a little rocky, but I think you need to relax. Even in the picture you look tense. The dress is absolutely gorgeous and looks great on your body. Stand up straight, roll those shoudlers back, and give it some confidence. You will look even more stunning once they get it all fitted correctly.

@BefuzzledBee:

Oh honey… that dress looks beautiful on you.  I love the ruching details on the bodice and it really accentuates your shape.

When the alterations are complete and the wrinkles steamed out…. when you put it on and see yourself jacked up with the rest of your bridal accessories…. I’m positive you will see yourself as a beautiful bride.

I saw you’d posted a photo and I scrolled slowly down the photo ready to see some ugly bride in creased curtains and I can honestly say it’s absolutely beautiful! I’m not just saying that!! I love dresses with belts, I love the pleating on the bust and down the middle. Also you have a wonderful figure!!!

I can see that it was/is slightly creased at the bottom so ask the shop if they can fix that.

I think you’re just stressed, calm down and maybe wear the dress at home a bit when FI’s not around to get over the shock and relax wearing it. Trust us, it looks beautiful!!

You look beautiful! That looks great on you! It’s an off day/week/whatever and you’re going to feel special on THE DAY, and that’s what matters. Can you bling it up a little to make yourself feel special? What jewelry do you have picked out? Even stuff that’s not super expensive, just really lovely or unique for you! I’m planning on renting jewelry that I couldn’t usually afford. I think the company is adorn? I think you’ll feel beautiful on the day, and just remember, your Fiance is going to LOVE LOVE LOVE seeing you all in white walking down the aisle, and if nothing else, THAT should make you feel beautiful ๐Ÿ™‚

I think you will feel differently when you try it on at your next fitting. The second fitting makes a BIG difference. Bring some nice jewelry and you will feel completely renewed!! Trust me. And you look amazing in your dress ๐Ÿ™‚
