Hate my wedding dress

I would do a test run on the spray tan now so you know how many days beforehand you need to do it to look the color you want. And to find a foundation that matches. My tan is best 3 days after I get sprayed. Right away I feel to dark and if I wait to long it gets the wearing off look. How long that is depends on how well you take care of your skin and the quality of the tan. With a tan you might feel differently about the dress. It’s crazy what a tan can do, it generally makes you look way more toned. I would definetly work on getting the right undergarments and try your dress on with a tan and see how you feel. I have friends that swear by Jurgens natural glow lotion, you could try that also if you don’t like the color of your tan.

If you still hate it I’d look at used wedding dress sites and see if you can find something you like better for cheap.

If I were you I’d start looking around online (assuming you can afford something new).  I also don’t live somewhere with a lot of options and honestly, I didn’t even look as I’d had my eye on something online for years.  Mine wasn’t a gown, but the website I used, unique-vintage, does carry gowns as well and had free returns 5 years ago… maybe they still do.  They were also not overly expensive.

You can also post a picture here… the Bees are so good at figuring out what’s ‘wrong’ with a dress that needs some alterations.  Are there any seamstresses in your town… even neighbors who are good at that sort of thing and would lend a hand?

Pale skin is beautiful. Please don’t get spray tanned.

Start a weight lifting regimen now. It can do wonders in four months.

Can you post a photo of you in the dress?

Hmm.. without seeing the dress on you it’s hard to know. Could you do a full skin colored bodysuit? You know how there are dresses that look like it’s skin showing but then you realize it’s a skin colored lining?

Just for what it’s worth, I think you look beautiful in that dress. There is no “mush” whatsoever. With your hair and makeup done, I bet you’ll feel much better in it!

Would adding a belt with maybe a little bling help make you feel better?

I’ll leave it to the wedding dress savvy bees to make practical suggestions but wanted to say I was expecting it to look bad and it really is lovely!

I honestly think your dress looks great! Very soft and romantic. I like the ribbon, maybe try on a few more different types of belts of various thicknesses? Hopefully you’ll like the effect of one and that’ll make you feel better! I most definitely do not think you look anything like a tub. I think this dress is helping to emphasize your curves if anything.

docinlove484 :  bee, you look so beautiful in it!

Also, I think if you had it altered and raised the waist up a bit, you would be much happier with it.

Personally I think it looks lovely on you, but it’s not what I think that matters. The belt does help define your waist. Could you add a jacket or topper if you’re not happy with the front?

Honestly, I think your body looks great in this dress! I do understand that you want to feel beautiful, and an internet stranger is not going to change that. Anyhoo, The belt does help with giving you more of a cinched waist. A blingy belt might also give you a fab looking waist, but I’m guessing since you wanted a plain dress, you probably like to steer clear of bling. I think you are on the right track with a belt. Check out a few different ones with different widths. I’m sure you’ll find something that give you the silhouette you desire.
