I’ve been whitewater rafting several times.  Nothing has ever happened to me or anyone in our crew.  As long as they’re booking through an agency that has a guide on the boat, you should feel confident that everything will be fine.  Everyone wears life vests, and if the group is inexperienced, they won’t be hitting any class 5 rapids, it will be fun but very safe.  Even when we had someone fall out of our raft once, they were fine.  They just floated along until we got the raft over to them and pulled them back in.

Honestly, you should feel happy that your fiance’s best man wants to do something atypical of the stripper party; most brides cringe at that idea. And I may get some flack for this, but I used to work in a strip club, and the things I have seen girls do to bachelors trying to get that extra tip are NOT cool.  They include licking his lips, kissing him, and putting their naked crotch ON his face.  Unsanitary much?  Not to mention illegal.

I can assure you, as long as they take a guide, which is usually required, he’ll be fine!  I used to go all the time when I was 6 and 7 years old.  I even fell out a few times.  I know it definitely looks dangerous but he’ll be wearing a lot of safety equipment!

I think he’ll be totally fine, I’ve been white water rafting several times and even went in a little inflatable kayak during one out in CO and nothing ever happened…that is such a FUN idea for a bachelor party!

I think this sounds like a fun idea for your FH.  How does he feel about it?  Maybe the two of them came up with this idea out of respect for you.  Maybe they thought that you’d be more comfortable with something that did not involve him getting plastered (I’d be more worried about alcohol poisening than the white water rafting) and naked girls.

Rafting is safe and fun and will be incredibly memorable for them.  I’ve run a lot of white water (even the Nile in Uganda), and can assure you that their guides won’t let them do anything that they are not capable of.  Just make sure that the person leading the trip is an official raft guide from a reputable guide company and things will be absolutely fine…

I really think you should reconsider your thoughts on white water rafting! it is so much fun, and I know your Fiance will love the experience, and love you more for allowing him to do such!
