- Wedding: October 2016 - His Way Church & Chesapeake Room @ Downs Park
So, Fiance and I will be getting married in Annapolis with the ceremony in a park and the reception in downtown Annapolis. We will be providing guests with a tea menu of pastries, salad and soup as well as cupcakes. Alcohol will not be served during the reception. It will be earlier in the day and will be a fall theme with halloween touches as we will be getting married close to Halloween. I will also be wearing a black dress. I don’t want any “tacky” Halloween stuff incorporated into the wedding but I was thinking it could be fun to invite guests to join my groom and I along on a haunted pub crawl later in the evening. It would be casual; no one would be expected to go if they don’t want to. It would not immediately follow the reception, so it would technically be separate from the wedding and would giving people a chance to change into more comfortable clothing and letting it get a little darker/spookier outside.
The pub crawl would be about 2-2.5 hours and we would walk to and from 3 or 4 bars and spend 20-30mins at each bar listening to the haunted history of annapolis and ghost stories. Now, they do arrange for group crawls and it’s $400 for up to 15 people, with an additional $17 per guest over the 15. I am inviting 40 people to my wedding and I’m assuming not everyone will want to participate so I don’t imagine spending more than $600 (and even that is stretching it). Drinks are not included into the price. Individual tickets are $22.00.
First question: Does this sound fun? Would you enjoy participating in something like this?
Second question: Who pays for what? Because it’s not part of the wedding, is it acceptable for guests to pay? (I’ve included a poll to vote)
