I just wear my band on mission trips and in other like situations. Once when I didn’t, someone noticed my ring and made a big deal about it, and I felt sincerely awful.

I havent really encountered a situation where I’d deem my ring inapproriate, but if I did, and in any other potentially uncomfortable situation, I’d just wear my wedding band.  And its a half eternity, so if need be, I’d flip it over so it was just the plain metal exposed also.

Sometimes I wear my promise ring on my left hand if I feel like it’s innapropriate to wear my normal e-ring for some reason. I will likely wear just my band in those situations once we get married.

i have a tiny gold ring with a heart that I wear to work (i’m a nurse & can’t really wear my e-ring to work w/o worrying about it constantly)

i wear it on my right hand when i’m wearing my ring and usually just leave it there, though b/c i forget.

I have a plain band that I wear in place of my e-ring and diamond wedding band when I don’t feel my real rings are appropriate.

I’m planning on getting a plain wedding band I can wear alone when I’m married.  When just engaged, I’d go ringless for a bit if I’m worried.

Haha, well now that the post is back up again – I don’t have a stand in ring but I have an antique necklace that has that exact same design on a small gold chain. Super cute!

Well I wouldn’t call my ring cheap but I specifically asked for a small diamond as I already have two diamond rings that I never wear and as a biologist, my hands can be in unusual places – like up to my elbows in swamp muck. Heck, I hardly wear the ring except on special ocassions.

I have a plain stainless steel band that I sometimes wear, it was only $5. the quality is quite nice.

but my e-ring and wedding band are pretty small, I don’t think anybody would look at my set and assume that it was expensive.  I wear them for most situations.

I see nothing wrong with wearing a subdued ring in situations where it might not be appropriate to wear bling.
