I was never the type of person who thought about writing out positive affirmations and then saying them daily. However, as of late, I have been feeling stressed with work, anxiety from family issues, and just kind of in a funk. I recently saw a movie where a woman had a post it with about 5 positive I am statements ( I am a successful and talented person, I deserve love and affection…etc.) she had written out and she read them aloud whenever she looked in the mirror. That movie had me thinking heck, why not? It couldn’t hurt. Anyone try this or something else like it? Did it help pep you up over time?

I have not done it, but my dad has. He needed a hip replacement last year, and before he had scheduled it, I had signed up for a tri-athlon (my parents are the type that would never miss one of our events when we were kids, never. Nevermind, I am now 30!!)
He had his hip replacement on May 8th, and was riding his bike around the course to cheer me on, on June 3rd. Granted a lot of it was hard work of him with his rehab, but he also did affirmations every day (mostly about being healthy) as the doctor suggested it. He is not typically that type of person either, but he swears it worked.

My best friend had really bad self esteem issues after her ex finance cheated on her so I told her to write ‘I am beautiful’ on her mirror and read it every morning and night. It really helped her.
