My friend had lasik because she was blind without contacts or glasses and has LOVED the results, over 5 years later she has no vision problems. The surgery was quick & painless and all she had to do was put drops in her eyes for 2 weeks after and now she’s done.

@mmr66:  I was in a -6 at least.  My cousin (opthamology assistant) said all things considered, I was practically a -9 when you factored in other parts of my prescription.  PRK worked wonders for me!

BEST THING I EVER DID!!

Mine were -8.75.  I paid about $4000.  Got it done in Toronto at LASIK MD. I have 20/20 vision.

I got Lasik done about 2 months ago and am sooooo happy that I did it.  I was at -7.5 in both eyes, have been wearing glasses/contacts since 2nd grade so it’s so great to be able to wake up and see the alarm clock!!  Or wake up after a nap and not worry if your contact has dried to your eyeball!!  Absolutely do it, or at least go in for a consultation.  The only warning is that you will likely still need to wear reading glasses as you get older (they said past 40-ish) because that is a different part of the eye that affects that, but it’s a worthwhile investment.

I never had it done, but I know at least 4 people that had it done when it first came out and was super scary. They still swear it was the best thing they ever did. I know one person that had it done recently and said the procedure is so easy now that it was like…go in, sit down, and bam! they can see. LOL. I say go for it.

I got it done and was great for about 2 1/2 years and then my vision got bad again….what they don’t tell you is that your vision will still keep changing until you’re 35 so don’t get the Lasik until after that age.

I know this is from a long time ago, and maybe you don’t need advice anymore, but I had lasik and it was the best thing I ever did.  I went from feeling around trying to find my glasses in the morning to being able to see my own face in the mirror!

PS – I had mine done over 5 years ago and have not had any issues!
