How much do you know about the show? Many of these reality shows (ie Bridezillas) use editing to manipulate the storyline of your episode to amplify drama and conflicts. I think you should consider the goal of the show and the summary they gave when deciding whether to accept it.

One of my very close girlfriends got married in Times Square on TLC after the royal wedding. The whole experience was EXHAUSTING as a guest, but she seemed to have a great time!!

I was a bridesmaid in a wedding that was on A Wedding Story on TLC. I was also the day of coordinator for the wedding.  The crew was great to work with, very nice but I do think it added a lot of stress to the bride. She was a high stress bride to begin with and it increased the need for perfection. It was kind of odd to have the filming crew at first, they had us participate in additional events for filming – a wine tasting and a brunch but we got used to them.  Then again, a case of Dom Perignon while getting our hair and make up done will help a bridal party get used to anything. All these “required” extras were completed but not paid for by TLC. The bride was fortunate that her dad had a very generous budget but I believe that they explained all of this during the interview process to get on the show. When we saw the show air on tv, it really was well done and nicely recaptured the day.  I hope that helps you.

I would have done Four Weddings, but my husband wanted no part of it.. lol  He said I’d be too sensitive and would be so mad if someone said something bad about my wedding.. I did apply for SYTTD, but they never called.  I went there anyway and it was horrible!  The place sucks!

There was a post a while back about someone doing Four Weddings. They said it was very intrusive and encouraged the brides to talk shit. They also annoyed the guests. I wouldn’t do it.

I hate wedding shows now. The only one I would consider doing is whose wedding is it anyways. Although my Fi would have said no to me so it wouldn’t happen anyways, I’m not even allowed to post pictures on the bee :(!

I always wondered how the brides feel after watching the episode. After our wedding, we saw on FB or heard through the grapevine a few criticisms/complaints (made by people AT the wedding sitting AT the table) about our wedding menu and it really hurt my feelings more than I expected, to the point where I spent a few restless nights wondering how people could be so publicly rude. Granted, we’ve gone to a few weddings and didn’t like certain parts, but we would never talk about it in a way that would get back to the couple. For example, we usually just mention it between ourselves on the drive home and that’s that.

So, OP, this is something to consider if you do want to be on the show. It won’t be just people in your wedding but you may read comments online/in blogs/forums/etc. that may not be very nice.
