I went and chose my dress quite soon after getting engaged, and I feel maybe I rushed it abit. I sort of knew what I wanted and have ended up with something completely different. Though the longer I wait for my dress to come in the more I look at the pics of me in the dress and then others in the dress and it makes me unsure. I picked it because I loved the train and I love the sparkle which I thought I would have had a simple dress with no embellishments. And I love the lace overlay. I am worried as in the pic the dress is fairly fitted on me (love that) but i think that is because the clips are pulled so tight, so when I looked at others in the dress it looks loose on them and not as fitted around the thighs and the dress looks so diff from the model pics. I’m sure when my dress comes in (another two months) I will be able to have it altered to fit more on the thighs and then flare a bit more? Would that be possible? Also do you think it suits me?
This is the model.
Me in the dress (sorry for large pics) I know the dress is several sizes too big which makes it hard to tell about how it will look but I don’t want it to be to lose because how they have clipped it is how I like it. But how they have clipped it is lower than the corset would go? Which makes it tighter and worried it won’t be like this.

I love it on you! At your fitting, speak up about the way you want it to fit at your thighs and flare out. If you’re worried about the position of the corset, say something about that, too. It is entirely possible for you to have your dress flow as you imagine. Just don’t be too shy to ask! 🙂

I don’t think you need to worry – that dress looks amazing on you!
I’ve found model pictures problematic too. The dress never looks the same on them as it does on me. I figure that’s because they’re all 8 feet tall, a size 2, and being made to pose really awkwardly. As I’m only 5’6″ and wiggle from anything from a size 10 to a size 14 because of my hips and boobs, then I’ve tried to stop looking at model pictures so much!

It looks great! Honestly, don’t worry, it can always be altered to the way you want it.
I deleted all the pics of me in other dresses from my phone so I don’t second-guess my decision, and I haven’t looked at the model pics except once, because it looks completely different on the model. Once your dress comes in I bet you will fall in love with it all over again.

@redbootz: Beautiful dress! I had the same issue. When I tried on the sample, it was too big, so they had to clamp me in, and it was fitted in all the right places. When the actual dress came in, it was more of a slim A-line than the mermaidish look I’d thought I was going to get…but I was still in love with my dress (the lace, the train…). The seamstress then told me that she’ll take it in so that it’s more fitted around the butt and thighs, so you’ll be ok! Also, once you actually try the dress on, you’ll fall right back in love with it again. Everytime I look at phone pictures of me in my dress, I have a little bit of doubt, but when I put that dress on, I’m in love….;)

That is what I am worried about, that I think it will be more slim A line but yeah I think I will definitely have to say how I want it, I’m not sure how much alterations will be but I think I would pay to make it just how I want it, I think she initially said around £200 but im thinking it will be way more. I was tempted to go try the sample on again but think might be best to just wait for my dress to arrive. I just have all these doubts and sometimes dream about it and I know I have a ton of other things to be worrying about and need to chil, maybe it is because I’m also getting impatient of waiting for it to come. I am glad you get to have your dress altered, it is difficult when the samples are all so big.

Only YOU can answer that question. YOU need to look at yourself in it and say this is the one!
