Hi Ladies 🙂
Firstly congratulations to all you brides 2 b! 🙂
So… My wonderful fiance proposed in September and we set a date for october 2013… I was really Over the moon and very excited to start all the planning, but as I was expecting our little boy and was having quite a few pregnancy complications i decided to leave most of the planning till he was here 🙂 Which brings us to here…He is now 4 weeks old and ive realised ive only 7 months to go to the big day!! I am seriously freaking out, I have hardly anything done! We booked our ceremoney and reception back in october and it does include quite a few things but I really need to get my butt into gear, we havent even asked a minister to marry us yet! I cant even try on wedding dresses either as i still have all my baby weight and i know ill be down quite a few dress sizes by then..so I want to wait another month before finding THE dress… but is that stretching it… eeeek anyone else in a similar situation?!! HOW ON EARTH AM I PLANNING ALL THIS IN 7 MONTHS!!!!
anddd breathhhh…… xxx

My BFFs brother’s wife planned their wedding in 6 weeks. I think you can get everything done in 7 months 🙂

- Wedding: June 2013 - Country Club
I’ve basically been planning my wedding from the 6 month mark (although we will have been engaged for 9 months by the time our wedding comes around). You can do it. (:

@mummyb: You can totally do it! As for the dress, maybe you can try on dresses now and get it altered down closer to your wedding date. From what I’ve seen on SYTTD, it’s not unusual for brides to lose weight prior to the wedding and get their dresses sized down quite a bit. I think it’s a safer bet to get your dress now rather than wait until the last minute (unless you think you can find one off-the-rack that you’ll be happy with).
As for the minister, can you delegate that task to your Fiance so you can focus on other aspects of the wedding? I think it sounds like something a guy could handle.

Id start looking for dresses and order asap, it took 6 months to met mine in and i think thats the average wait time. Id also look for a caterer if it isnt included with the reception, as well as a photographer and start looking at bakers for cakres and sweets.. i think those book up fastest aswell.
congrats btw!!! glad your bundle is here and well!

You can totally get everything done in 7 months! It’s great that you have your ceremony and reception venues already, as those are often things that will book up the quickest. I would suggest getting busy on hiring your one-off vendors (those who can only do one wedding in a day), such as photographer/videographer, caterer, and DJ. Also, don’t put off getting your dress! A good seamstress can alter it down to fit you, and dresses can take 6+ months to come in.
Just take a deep breath, you can do it!

You can totally pull this off in 7 months! You have the biggest things (venue + ceremony site), now its just filling in the rest.
And don’t worry about the dress, I got my dress when I was carrying a few extra pounds and have lost them. I’m sure that will be taken care of in alterations!

It’s plenty of time! I’ve been engaged since ’09, but I didn’t start planning anything until January of this year. (that includes the booking the venue and buying the dress).
The first thing you want to do is find a dress, I didn’t realize it takes so long to order them.. I was lucky that I bought a sample dress, so I didn’t have to order.

You can do it! I got engaged on Dec 9, 2012 and will get married on April 27, 2013. That’s less than 6 months. Your options will be more limited but that makes decision making a bit easier IMO.

I put my wedding together in 3 months, due to immigration and my visa staus, ect. We are having a fairly small wedding, 42 dinner guests. I booked flowers 3 weeks before the day, and a DJ just last week because we had problems with our other DJ. My wedding is this weekend. Relax…unless you are in a busy city where all the vendors will be booked, then you will be fine. Just remember, there are dozens of vendors to choose from for each specific job.

Easy peasy! So long as you are flexible. Don’t freak out!

You can totally pull this off!! Just divide and conquer between your family and friends, who I’m sure will be more than happy to help you get these things done. Get a to-do list together of the things you need to get done and prioritize. You may not be able to have EVERYTHING you’re wanting, but make sure that you check off those things that are most important to you and FH and build from there. Although we’ve been engaged for going on 2 years (life happens, right?!) we finally decided to lock in the date this past December and will have pulled ours off in less than 4 months eeekk!! With less than 7 weeks to go, I’m chugging right along and I’m going to be able to have pretty much everything I wanted 🙂 You’ll do great!
And congratulations on all of the wonderful things happening in your life…baby, husband…your heart must be bursting at the seams with LoVe!!
