- Wedding: September 2012
Hi! We are planning a Romantic/Gothic (both referring to the periods of time) wedding, with dark red, black, ivory, and champagne, with hints of amber and pewter. I’m having some trouble with my centerpieces, though my mother thinks they’re “fine, we’ve spent enough.” However, I just can’t shake the fact that I feel they’re NOT fine, that something is missing. I don’t have pictures of the centerpieces (all at Mom’s…), but I will attempt to describe them (3 centerpieces in all amongst 30 tables):
- 3 amber colored candle goblets of various sizes. One of the goblets will stand on top of 3-5 hardbound books tied in dark red ribbon (no book jackets).
- 3 pewter colored candle goblets of various sizes. One of the goblets will stand on top of 3-5 books tied in champagne ribbon.
- 1 large black stagecoach lantern with a pillar candle.
So, I have a couple of issues. 1) I don’t think the tables with the goblets have enough going on, I feel like they’re missing a definitely needed floral element. 2) The table with lantern is boring, definitely missing something.
I’m not into the typical votive with mirror thing, I really want a unique experience (like we all do!). Any ideas come to mind how I can complete this concept without going broke??? Oh, and each table will have a dark red table runner.
