Im only 22! And with that said, I just feel lik I no longer like signing on face book anymore – its bcome boring to me.. My friend is a little bugged by me though as she thinks I try to avoid talking to her but I seriously just would rather do anything else then sit and chat online.. anyone else like this?

@Mrsgurzakovic: I go through phases with FB….there are times when I am on a lot, and then I go through periods where I’m just not interested in it. I think I’m becoming more of a FB “lurker” where I just like to read other people’s status updates to see what they are up to. 🙂

I found facebook depressing. People always try to make their lives look better than they are, online.

I actually hateee Facebook, and I work in social media and PR! I prefer Twitter, and rarely use anything except Twitter + Instagram. Facebook is nothing but drama and family issues (for me)

@seahorsey: I feel the same way about Facebook and I also work with social media. Love Twitter. Love Instragram.
I think trimming your friend list (or using lists properly and putting some groups out of view) can help make Facebook more fun. I hide the updates from a lot of people. I don’t see much drama at all. It’s pretty nice. 🙂

@mink: I agree with you…I’ve hidden people (including family members) who do nothing but post political stuff and things that will incite arguments…I don’t need that drama on a daily basis!

No, I don’t think so. I moved across the country so I use Facebook to keep in touch with everyone back home. Like be able to see pics of my nephews and neice. I do have my nephew and some other teenager friends and it can be annoying seeing their status updates. Overall, it’s a great site for me. Plus, it’s a good way to get info. I found out a close friend of ours was dying of cancer. 🙁 Oh, now I use it to get some amazing deals from my favorite stores. I would rather get a status update from fb then to get a email message since I get so many emails that I don’t read anymore.
Oh and I’m 28. I’m sure FB would be different and get old if you didn’t need it to keep in touch with people.

I feel like I am over it. I don’t use it very often. I was just starting college when it became “big” and widespread. And I did use it very often when I was in college. But now, not often.
I will be 25 in a few months.

Facebook has nothing to do with age. There are countless middle-age and elderly folks on there. If you don’t want to spend time on it, that’s fine, but don’t blame age which is completely irrelevant.
That said, I don’t spend that much time on it and when I do, I always have the setting to ‘offline’ so I don’t chat with anyone except when I want to.

Yea, I also use it to try to keep in touch with family and friends — but man, before Id always be on!! haha it was ridiculous! Glad thats wearing off though, Now I log on and see whats up and check up on those I care for and voila, im done. I like it better this way though- I dont feel too preoccupied with a social networking site and focus on things that actually benefit me

I don’t feel “too old” to use Facebook anymore, but I am planning to trim my friends list pretty significantly. I like to stay in touch with many of my friends from college, but there are people from high school that I just don’t feel a need to be connected to anymore. There are a few I talk to once in awhile, but I don’t need to read status updates about people I no longer have any connection to.

I use it to connect with friends and family all over the country/world, so I don’t find it boring. I also have never had drama issues, which I know some people do. I still get things out of using it; if you don’t, don’t use it.

I don’t really update my status anymore – I login, spend about 5 mins flicking through the home feeds, comment as appropriate then log off.
Nothing really happens on fb these days, except for the people who update their statuses with mundane events like ‘I am watching something on tv’ ‘going to bed’ *yawn*
I have been on facebook for over 5 years though..
