I’m bumping up this thread!  I am looking into eBay designer-inspired dresses as well, and would love to see some real dresses/hear about experiences.

Does anyone have recommendations for eBay sellers who you’ve worked with and had a good experience with?

I bought one from april’s bridal/ jeff liu and I wasn’t happy. You can read my reviews on my page.

I bought 2 dresses for my 2 ceremonies from Dressilyme.com and I am really happy. You can also see my review from them.

You can always mail dressilyme a custom image and they can work from it. You can also request examples from similar designs for an idea of their quality.

Other recommendations are.

Coralsbridal.com

millysbridal

monicasbridal on dhgate

babyonline on dhgate

Good luck

Well, I have and I’m still waiting on the damned this.  And to make matters worse (especially for a VERY impatient person), it was supposed to only take 21-30 days to make, then it’d be shipped out.  AND IT HASN’T.  My Fiance is planning on putting in a “complaint” next Friday if we don’t hear anything by then.

He HAS sent emails asking for status updates and was first told they didn’t recieve payment (complete BS), then it was having the embroidery/embellishment done, THEN we were told it was being made! WTF?  ARGH!!!!

Thanks for the links!  I REALLY wanted this one dress, but might end up having to go another way if this a) doesn’t pan out or b)turns into a complete disaster.

@adw2c: you said you can send them a custom image…. can it be ANY custom image? like, say, from artwork???  or should I ask them about that?

@Zinzerena:

I would say to ask them about artwork. I actually think their communcation is WAY better than Jeff Liu and you can actually speak with them on the phone. I loved that about them. They can send you pictures or actual fabric samples. I would believe that the communication for artwork would be the key. You can ask dressilyme.com about it. One thing I like about them is they will let you know what they can or can’t do. Call them on China’s time and also email them directly. They have a fast response but don’t work on western hours.

Also I believe seeing coralsbridal working from a few images. However, I have never experienced their communication. I love their website and trust their quality from others recommendation.

I have also heard wonderful things about this company. You can ask them about the picture. I love how you can see all their quality. Like some of the links above. http://www.mybigfatbeautifulwedding.com/Custom-Wedding-Dresses-s/122.htm

@Cmt83:

I heard good things about landybridal but I am not sure if they have complaints. The ones I listed have reviews that reflect quality and care. I think Landysbridal have had really good ones. Maybe look extensively in their reviews to see how you feel about them.

@adw2c: thank you!!!  My Fiance and  I tossed around the idea last night and we’re thinking that we’ll probably go with dressilyme if this other one falls through… or we might just get it anyway, since the ones there have a more “wedding” feel to them, lol.

They actually had one that we liked that wasn’t a custom job, so who knows what we might go with.

anywhos… thank you sooooo much for the info!!!!

@Zinzerena:

Yeah go with your gut! You know one great thing about Landy’s Bridal with ebay is that if you aren’t happy you can get your money back if they create a listing. You have many back ups. I think I heard some good reviews for them so you should be safe. I hope you come back with some pictures!!! I really love seeing beautiful custom gowns even though I have mine.

Thanks for all the info bees.  I’m going to go check out all the stores.  My search for a used Amsale dress pulled up someone that would make it for $800!  I’ll have to cross check with the ones recommended here.

@adw2c: ARGH!!!!  Dressilyme can’t make the dress that I sent them.  (okay, so, it was one worn on a bbc TV show, but… I looooves it! *pout*)  I’ll try one of the others.  Dang it.

Here’s the dress and I’m pretty sure you’ll figure out what show it’s from.
