I’ve barely been active since the site change. It seems like much more work to me, so I pop in once every few days now.

Yes, I’m DEFINATELY less interested in this place now. I loved it before, but now navigating it just feels like swimming upstream. It’a no longer relaxing. It’s a workout.

Yes.  I’m visiting less often because I feel like a lot of the features that kept me “addicted” are gone.

     – I used to scroll through looking for polls (the little poll symbol) and I don’t see that any long.

    – It also used to be really easy to scan for posts with fewer replies, which I’m more likely to get engaged in.

     – My private messages don’t work properly to show responses, and even when they do tell you about a response they don’t take you to the exact spot in the thread where it showed up.  So I follow up a lot less.

     – I find that swapping between boards is clunky and slow (I don’t like the main boards because I I am uninterested in some of the most popular categories – rings, dresses, and babies).  That is probably the biggest thing that reduces that crack-like quality that the WB boards used to have for me.

To be honest, I’m kind of happy about the change because I was spending WAY TOO MUCH time on these boards.  I hope I don’t get used to the new format and can dial it back to a reasonable level of consumption.

Yes…. I still post in the TTC threads but I used to spend hours lurking on the most popular threads. I dont know if I just cant ind them or people are posting as much but I just get bored reading the first 2 pages of threads and then sign off.

With responding to threads that I am a regular on, I am doing that less too. With all the pages to read through, I usually miss comments so I respond less.

I tend to just look at the Blogs now, maybe look at the boards for a couple minutes and that’s it. I definitely am on the site way less than I used to be.

I always used to check the posts I had posted on first and now those are impossible to see in a consolidated list without “following” every post, which I just do not remember to do. It’s driving me nuts not to be able to follow up on a thread quickly and without having to go through an extra step.

Brielle:  Thank you!!  I am on antibiotics and feel a lot better already.  Holy cow, that was painful for a while though!!  Yeesh.  I haven’t had strep throat in probably 20 years, and either it’s worse as an adult, or time has blurred the memory of pain from childhood.  Happy friday, hope you have a great weekend 🙂

lolot:  I agree with this. There are certain threads I’m following and since I’m only on WB on my phone, it’s a pain to skip through multiple pages to get to the most recent replies. I wish I didn’t have to sift through comments I’ve already read :-/ Maybe that’s not an issue on the full site but it sucks on your phone!

Also, you should try Cepacol. It saved my life last time I was sick because it numbs your throat. Also, tea and honey! I hope you feel better soon.
