Our date was determined 100% by practicality. It’s 2 weeks after he takes the bar (want him to relax and be able to help with last minute details) and 2 weeks before I have to be back in school (so we can take a nice honeymoon). We didn’t even think about how it sounded. But I guess now that you mention it, it doesn’t sound bad…

We had a window of time where we needed to marry.  My husband’s parents were in town for 4 weeks during the summer, so we chose 7.3.10.  I just love the fact that 7+3=10…a formula my hubby should NEVER forget!  heehee

people think our date is “weird” (it’s 2/19/2011). whatever–it was the latest date we could have and still get an off season discount (the 26th was already booked and high season starts march 1). we chose our date purely for financial reasons!

oh well, i like our weird date πŸ™‚

@blondeeebuckeye: High season starts in March? That’s crazy! I always thought spring and summer was high season…

@MadameLady: Yeah if we wanted it any later it would have had to wait almost a year. I can’t wait that long!

@NotFridaythe13th: well, it depends where you live πŸ™‚ i live in texas, where its typically in the 60s in february, so yeah, march starts high season here. summer sucks for weddings because it’s so hot!

Our date was picked totally out of the blue and absolutely last minute by my Darling Husband.  One random Wednesday morning, he said “Let’s do this today”.  While we were on the way to get the the marriage license, he was on the phone with a JoP.   A few hours after getting our license, we were married.

No worries on how our wedding date sounded at all!  The only people it’s important to are me and Darling Husband, anyway!

Yep! I totally did this. The two dates I was considering were basically October 15 or 22, and quite honestly I did NOT want to be smack dab in the middle of the month, so Oct 22 won out. Plus, to me – and I know this is TOTALLY insane – October 22 just sounds better. I know, super weird eh?

Also, our “dating” anniversary is September 22, so having our “new” anniversary exactly one month after our “old” anniversary is a super cute touch (but totally unintended, I swear! Plus it makes it easy for Fiance to remember. Gotta keep that in mind! lol!) πŸ™‚

i totally get it. and i had to change my date because of another friend gettting married (long story).  well not change it, but pick one that “sounded” less desirable than the other option i *could* have had.

but oh well. in the grand scheme of things, i know its not a big deal.  but sometimes i still think about it and feel a little resentful…..but i won’t ever do or say anything about it.

I would have been crushed if I couldnt have 9-10-11. I wanted to get married on this date before we were even engaged, because I knew it would be our 5 year dating aniversary on that day

@MadameLady:

May 15 would have been an awesome date! I got engaged on May 15, 2010 and I only really remember it because the date sticks out well in my mind. I kind of wish we had gotten married in 2010 – a nice round number! (and would have made it easier to calculate anniversaries!) But August 26, 2011 will be fine I think πŸ™‚

I always wanted to get married on 10/10/10, because 101010 is binary for 42… and 42 is the answer to the question of life the universe and everything!

Alas, it didn’t end up happening, haha.

I’m still in school so I knew I had to plan around certain breaks. I wanted Dec. 31, but our church has a watch meeting (a service before the NY). Then we looked at NYD. We went with it because 1. it is on a Sat. 2. It is cool to be one of the first to get married that year and 3. 1-1-11 is a cool date!
