I’m gifting my girls their jewelry and a clutch to use the day of, and I plan on stocking it with lip balm and gloss and mascara, stuff like that, and then probably something cute that reminds me of them…

Not 100% sure yet… but I’m leaning towards making each of them a quilt. There is only 3 of them and I make quilts as a hobby. My Maid/Matron of Honor asked me forever ago if I’d make one for her some time and I have never had time… and I know one of the Bridesmaid or Best Man would love it because she always has a ton of throws/blankets around her house. I’m not 100% sure about the 3rd girl but I think she’ll like it… who doesn’t like a pretty cuddly quilt? I thought I’d make each one a different pattern and color set based on each girl. Hopefully I actually have time to pull this off… I was thinking of doing a quilt for Fiance too as a wedding gift so that would be 4 quilts. 🙂

The spa certificate is a great idea – thanks for the tip! I don’t have bridesmaids, but I have sisters who will be with me a lot, so I’m trying to think of what to get them

I ordered my girls spa robes with their monogram.  I even ordered myself one!  That way, we can all wear them while getting ready and they can wear them for years to come!

I quilt too – made one for my Ring Bearer and my Flower Girl.  With all the other DIY stuff I don’t have time for more, even table runners.

I went out for all my mom’s / bridal women and got each of them a new Vera Bradley purse in the “Sitting in a Tree” color scheme.  Each one is a different style to match the girl’s personality.  That way, we all match, but we aren’t identical.  I figured that these would get more use after the wedding than a monogram bag that may scream “Wedding!!”, and the colors on the purses (brown and green with cute love birds in a tree of life!) are perfect for our outdoor wedding.

I also got the matching cards and some tissue paper in brown/green/purple, and wrote each of them a nice note and packaged it up pretty.  I’m mailing them out this month so they can use them early.

I just started thinking about this last night and I have NO idea! I really like the spa gift certificate!! I really like the idea of doing a tote bag with a few little things in it so that is probably what Im leaning towards. I know that jewelry is out because my girls are all so different and I dont want to buy anything that they wont wear afterwards!! My wedding day will be very hot so I know I will definitely be including flip flops for them in their favorite color!

I’m giving the gals a couple different things – I’m trying to make the gifts meaningful and yet useful as well.

Clutches: I asked my mom to make me a clutch using fabric from my grandmother’s wedding gown.  This morphed into also incorporating fabric from mom’s wedding gown and any scraps from my dress alterations.  We’ll use any leftover fabric from these three sources to line the insides of some bright colored clutches that she’ll make in the same pattern for my bridesmaids.  I may even end up having the bridesmaids carry these with a small flower pinned to the clutch instead of a bouquet (not sure yet though!).  Now I just have to get mom to focus on getting started!!!

Flip-flops: Since it’s a CA wedding, I found white Reef flipflops at Nordstrom Rack & sewed white flowers on them for each of the girls.  I figure they can snip off the flower later and have a really nice pair of flip flops.  It was surprisingly easy to sew the flowers on the flops, BTW!

Jewelry: We got engaged in Hawaii when I was working there on a project.  I had met a really nice craftsperson there, Melissa, and I always loved looking (and yes, buying!) at her handmade jewelry.  So last time I was there for work, I stopped by and asked her to make each bridesmaid a necklace and earrings from freshwater pearls.  They ended up costing only $30 each for the set, they’re meaningful, and I supported a small business.  A good thing all around!

Memory book: I have started to make a mini memory book for each girl, using pictures from our years of friendship / family, and embellished with fun quotes, etc.  I’m not sure that this will make the final cut, as I’m afraid it looks too amateur, but I have a little bit of time and I’m going to keep playing with it.

Hair & Makeup & Nails: I’ll be paying for this for the day of the wedding as well, as the final part of my gift to them.

I’m making my girls clutches and using real freshwater pearl beads to make their jewelry.  And I’m paying for their hair to be done for the wedding.

Like Jackie-O I’m going down the route of clothing… I got them chocolate velour sweatsuits that I am personalizing with their nickname on the back– something fun to get ready in and dance in at the end of the reception/after party! I also got them jewlery to go with the dress and doing their hair.

Here’s the jacket for my Maid/Matron of Honor:

When I asked them to be my maids, I got them gifts that I gave them at the engagement party. I did custom “wife beater” tanks with “Maid” or “Head Maid” on the front with their nickname on the back. I also gave them sterling initial necklaces.
