Before I was fitted properly for a bra, I would just take a bunch of sizes into the dressing room at a store like Macy’s and keep trying until something felt like it was the best fit I could find. I had no idea what size I really was.

I had been wearing a 42Dear Daughter only to find out that I actually am a 38F or 38G!

ImaStarr:  OMG.  YES – Everyone thinks they’re a 34B.   It’s bizarre.  I was, of course, one of them.

I went to Linda’s Bra Salon, where they really know their shit and was fitted.   I was a 32C.   Totally floored.   The Little Bra Company also has some great corsettiers for women with smaller tatas.

ImaStarr:  I’ve been fitted at VS and La Senza and I was wearing mega wrong size.  I’d been wearing a 36B sometimes a C.  Turns out I’m a 34Dear Daughter.

gingerminty:  Me too! For YEARS I thought I was a 36A turns out I am a 32C. It’s amazing how much better my boobs (what little I have ) look now.

MsGinkgo:  I know so many people that have been improperly sized by VS employees.

Sized at VS a few years ago, they said I was a 36C.  My bras were always uncomfortable!  Lost 20lbs and recently re-sized again at Dillard’s, they said 32DDD.  Feels sooooo much better.

Ditto what gingerminty said.  I know so many people who were badly sized at VS!

whatsinaname15:  I don’t know what the training is like at VS but I’ve seen employees size women right on the retail floor with big bulky shirts on and the sizing is done in nearly 3 seconds.

When I went in for my sizings it was a longer process.   Not super lengthy but more time was spent and I was also jay-bird status on top.  I assume that’s a more accurate way to do it.

Victoria secret sized me so wrong it was like a joke.  I showed the woman who just sized me what happened when I put that size on and she looked embarassed.  I would not count on them to help.

gingerminty:  Oh I know – multiple people sized me at different times (and I verified myself – it’s just a ratio) – i’m a 34Dear Daughter.  I also noticed the difference once I put on the correct size.

Heck yeah!  There’s an awesome lingerie boutique in my city and I was so happy to finally know and wear the right size – I’d been going around in 38DDs for years when I’m really a 34F.  It’s a bummer that I can no longer get cheap bras at Target, Kohls, etc. but it’s OK because I’m so much more comfortable and confident now!

ImaStarr: Last time I thought I should get measured I went and did so and had increased by 3 cup sizes. So, I bought a few more new ones, fortunately I had vouchers to spend and I felt transformed, I looked better in my clothes too.

Yes! I was wearing 32C but needed a 28E!!! Now I usually wear a 30F after gaining a bit of weight.

ImaStarr:  literally every time I go to buy a bra I get refitted. My ladies fluctuate with my weight.
