I bought my veil during a trunk show and got 20% off.

Also, I don’t know if this varies from salon to salon, but I was expecting that the trunk show would have veils the salon didn’t normally carry…and that wasn’t the case! They had the same selection as always, just marked down.

I went to one (it was an excuse to try on my dress again) and the discount was 10%. Everything was still way overpriced. I would strongly recommend looking online including etsy for your accessories. Bridal salons mark these up over 100% in most cases. I got my cathedral length mantilla online for $250 with my choice of lace and customized trim. In the salons the range for more inferior veils were $350-$1000.

I totally understand! I’m also very nervous about buying things online but I’ve had more good experiences than bad. Maybe you can try on some stuff in the salon and once you decide on the length, color and trim explore the online options? Fortunately tulle is tulle and there are not that many variations ๐Ÿ™‚

My Etsy seller sent me swatches of different laces and colors, that definitely helped with my decision. I also sent her pics of my dress and a small fabric sample. She said if it was a really unusual color she could tea-dye the veil to match. It helps tremendously to have a responsive seller.
