Just skip them. Edible ones can be nice but it really depends on what it is because not everyone will eat everything, for example, I don’t eat most types of chocolate, macarons, caramel-covered anything (they’re all much too sweet) or candy so those would all be a waste for me. In fact, I went to a wedding recently where there was a late night snack of hot chocolate, fries, hot dogs and various teas and even that was barely used.

If you do décidé to do them, please don’t put your names, pictures or dates on anything. If you do, then it immediately gets stuffed into a cupboard in my house where it takes up space. We once got really cute candles as favors a few years ago and they’re still in a cupboard somewhere because we feel bad about throwing them away.

Everyone seemed to like ours. We did unlimited photobooth pictures and videos with an interactive feature so they could be emailed or immediately instgrammed to our guests in addition to the printouts and we did acrylic photobooth frames for the strips. Our names were not on anything. Just the date and a sticker inside the frame that wasnt visible once the picture was in it 🙂

futuremrsJR:  I don’t think they are necessary. I think of favors as being a thing for a child’s birthday party or something. I view the “favor” as being hosting your guests to food, drink, music, etc. The only time I really liked a favor was when I was a kid and went to a wedding where the centerpieces were fish! Haha, I took mine home and kept it for like 3 years.

MissJulianna:  Wow. That’s actually really cool. I stand corrected, I’ve never heard of a favor like that. It sounds like you really thought about what a guest would actually want!

swonderful:  it was a nice small thing for everyone and our guests had a lot of fun with it. We also got copies of everything so it was an awesome album for us and the videos were hilarious.

We got married in Vegas so we did actual casino poker chips for the casino where the reception was held. They were a huge hit because everyone was a gambler and who doesn’t like free money to gamble with.

But personally I only like edible favours but I don’t care if there are none. That said I have had some shockingly bad edible ones as well.

Nimmle02:  This is what I think I’m going to do at our wedding! We’re incorporating mason jars anyways, so it just makes sense. So glad to hear somebody liked receiving this kind of favor! Reading the other comments was making me second guess myself.

My friend also had a good one… They had an adult only wedding and they had mini bottles of champagne and small “hangover kits” which were mason jars with gum, mint, condoms, pepto and advil. We all thought it was pretty funny.

j_jaye:  Best wedding favor ever!  Who doesn’t appreciate money?  I mean, you could even just turn the chip in and get the cash instead of gambling if you wanted to!

I tend to like anything that’s edible.. we are going to give macaroons in our welcome basket. They aren’t 100% necessary though…

Ham1320:  The patisserie we ordered our cake from is making them.  I may have sampled a few.  They are to die for! Not too sweet, soft and chewy, and she does some insane flavours! We have 90 guests.  I’m ordering 300.  We’re hosting a family party the next day and I know they will want leftovers.

Swebs14:  I know!  Though they do discounts on bulk orders (I did some research for our favours. Ultimately it came down the macarons. )

futuremrsJR:  Can you set up your desserts like a bar with little bags so they can fill it with the different sweets? I think that’d be good. I do like the edible favors. Most of the others just clutter up my home, they’re not really useful. I once went to a wedding that gave out a small bottle of wine and cheese as favors.

sumshine.dawn:  I’m glad you love yours, but live animals as favors is pretty cruel…
