I found someone who is wants to sell me her HB bracelet and I have no idea how this works. We’re going to do it through paypal. Honestly I’m a little nervous about being ripped off, especially since this is such an expensive purchase. Sounds weird but in this day and age who wouldn’t be a I guess.
Those if you who have bought anything from the classifieds ads on here before: how did you go about the purchase? Is there anything that I can do to protect myself in this purchase?

Paypal is the best way to make a purchase because at least you have some protection from them. I’ve bought and sold on the Classifieds here in the past and all my transactions went wonderfully! 🙂

ok good, I just wanted to make sure other people had good experiences. Did the sellers send you emails with paypal invoices or was it done some other way?

I’ve bought and sold with awesome experiences both ways!

I bought mason jars off of one person and chair sashes from another. Both worked well. The person with the mason jars wanted me to send a check and I said no, only pay pal- I was scared of getting scammed but everything turned out well!

I have bought quite a few things from bees and have been very happy. Paypal is the best way to go.
Make sure to ask for a confirmation/tracking number with shipping. That will be an added protection for you and seller. If the bracelet is more than $100, I would request UPS/Fed Ex or USPS Priority Mail for shipping carrier even if it’s a little more expensive. I’ve never had a problem with an item not arriving through USPS, but sometimes the packaging is banged up if the item went through standard mail.

I just bought my wedding dress off of the classified section.
I had the seller set up an auction on eBay with my username instead of a title (so nobody else will find it and bid on it).
Make sure they put all of the details of the item on the listing, and have a return policy that allows you to return the item if it is “significantly different than described.”
This way I have both eBay and PayPal to fall back on if something bad happens. My dress should be here within a week! I’ll make a post saying how it all went once I get the dress.
