Absolutely!  I don’t make a habit of it but I don’t wait on others to join me.  I do what I want.  You should totally go see something soon!

Yup. If I want to see a movie and nobody else wants to go, I’ll go alone. But I hate going alone at night when it’s crowded and noisy. But going alone in the afternoon is awesome.

I’ve been wanting to try this!! My FH hates going to movies, but I love it, and I never get to go…I’ll have to try it, now. I had no idea how many people actually went by themselves!

Going to the movies alone in the afternoon during the week (if you can escape from work) is a little piece of heaven. Seriously, almost every time I have gone alone I have had the theater to myself.

    I love it!

I’ve never done this and probably will not ever do this. I’m a total chicken shit when it comes to doing stuff by myself!

I went to see Hotel Rwanda by myself…. so glad I did because I was sobbing uncontrollably… I ran out of the theatre when it was over and cried in my car for a little longer. So sad…

I have a friend who goes alone all the time. She just says, “Meh it takes the hassel out of calling people I don’t even really want to hang out with just to see a good show.” Haha nice friend….

I’ve never gone by myself, but I totally would if it was something I wanted to see bad enough. Usually I just drag my man with me though.

    I have never and couldn’t.

The thought of going to a movie alone just scares me. I would feel awkward.

@.twist.: Then you must be lucky you have friends who want to do stuff with you. I go to concerts alone, Broadway, the Opera, movies, museums etc. A lot of my friends don’t have things in common with me when it comes to art and literature. And the couple of them who do, might be busy when I’m not. I love going to the movies on Saturday or Sunday morning. So peaceful and relaxing. I’ve been to the movies alone WAAAAAYYYY more times than I’ve gone with people. 80%-20% split or more. Someone mentioned it was anti-social to go alone though 🙁 What does he know??

@bRooklynRocks: Oh no! I have my finace who’s always up for a movie, but if my friends can’t go, and I want to see a movie bad enough, I will just wait until someone is available, or until it’s out on dvd!

I go to movies by myself all the time!  I love it!  I can see whatever I want, I don’t have to take anyone else’s opinion into consideration, and I can get whatever snacks I want without worrying that people will judge me ;).  I also eat out by myself all the time.  I love alone time.  It’s good for you.  And there’s absolutely no reason that alone time should only take place in your house.

I have been to a movie alone and I actually didn’t mind it :). I sat there with the book that the movie was based on, and kept making references (in my head of course) between both. Lol, I am such a geek 😛
