natalec :

It is different isnt it ? I like it in the bands   and the earrings  but not  when in a halo. (   I dont really care for haloes though,   so prob not  fair judgement )

I’d like  to see the cut in an amethyst or sapphire or emerald I think.

Mine is not a criss cut but it’s similar (prince cut). It’s super sparkly and I get a lot of compliments. It looks huge in this photo! It’s a 1.5ct and size 6 finger. Hubs liked the shape of emerald cut but I wanted more sparkle – this was the perfect compromise.

I prefer the classic emerald cut with the hall of mirrors look.

I love the clear, step cuts, so I that would be my choice over the criss cut.

natalec :  Yes – I’ve heard of them before. The diamond has more facets, making it more sparkly. Not just for emeralds, all shapes. Only Christopher Designs rings have crisscut diamonds. He coined the term – it’s proprietary to his brand. (I know this because my setting is Christopher Designs – I just decided on a sapphire center instead of a diamond).

natalec :  I saw them in San Francisco when I was ring shopping years ago. A reputable jeweler was selling them, it’s Christopher designs right ? They make beautiful rings too.
