Have you ever lost a stone from your set?

I have micro pave and pave stones (I wear three rings together). I’ve lost stones over the years from both my engagement ring and my wedding band. My jeweler replaces them each time at No cost. That said- I would have paid for them if they’d asked me too- I too love the look.

Of note, I wear my rings literally all the time- gardening, cooking, managing children etc. so I’m not easy on them. If you’re really concerned, I’d talk to your jeweler and see what their policy is. Congratulations!

Here’s a crummy photo of my rings- I’ve lost one stone from my engagement ring band, and several from my wedding ring. Oddly, I’ve never lost any stone from the band with the sapphires in it. Good luck!

Hi bee, get what you love and get insurance. That way you are covered for repairs and loss of stones etc. sometimes it happens other times it doesn’t regardless of whether you wear your rings all the time or just sometimes.

I am a huge fan of pave stones and have only lost a few that were very tiny black spinel stones set poorly in sterling silver. They fell out after only a couple of wears. The company sent me another one, and it arrived with fallen out stones. I blame the poor construction rather than the design. I have never lost any paves in my diamond rings which are set in gold. One of which includes an extremely thin, micro pave triple halo with a split shank. The band on the triple halo is only 1.5mm wide, and has been worn everyday for over a year. It may look like one is missing on the left side of the halo, but it’s just the lighting. I don’t necessarily baby my rings, but I do take them off to shower, cook, clean, and sleep. I wear the diamond band 24/7 though and it is totally fine.

Just one from my halo And it was my fault for putting on tight pants and wearing the ring lol. We guess it got caught and pulled out. Other than that nothing. I will have had my e ring for 2 years in March. I dont baby my set other than not doing heavy lifting and no working out in them. Just gloves for cooking and cleaning. Worn 24 7 most of the time. We will see how it is in 8 more years though.

emmzsea :  I’ve had a micro pave set for 2 years now and have not lost a single stone. I’m actually quite surprised as before getting the bridal set, I kept reading online how much people lost stones in halos or micro pave rings. I almost never take my rings off and am quite rough on jewelry.

I have a full eternity band. Shared prong. 10 pointers set in platinum. I wear my ring 24/7 without exceptions including gym, sports like snowboarding, swimming, snorkeling.

When I chose the ring I was a bit worried but I also knew it was insured so I wear it like no stone can ever fall out and it hasn’t. Granted it has only been 9 month.

That said, in retrospect I would have chosen something else. A diamond band definitely but maybe a princess or baguette channel probably. Maybe a milgrain knife edge band with diamonds. I try not to think to hard about it as I am very sentimental and won’t just switch my band as I am attached to it and the sentiment that comes with it.
