no. one is too bridesmaidy, and the other is too fancy. i had my girls pick out their own dresses in hopes that they’ll be worn again.

I think the biggest thing is having a fabric that doesn’t look like a Bridesmaid or Best Man dress and one that you could shorten (if its not already short).

My sister just cut her Bridesmaid or Best Man dress off and wore it to another wedding last night.  Hopefully she’ll send me pictures today.  This was the original dress.

Yes, I have. I was my MOH’s Maid/Matron of Honor last year and I was the only attendant on her side, so I got to choose a dress that I liked at that suited me 100%. The colour works well any time of the year, so it’s great for Christmas/New Year’s parties and also works for other weddings without screaming “this is a bridesmaid dress!”

This is the dress my SIL picked out for her Vegas wedding.  I wore it again to another wedding a few months later.  It’s a flattering style and a good color on me so I will deifnitely wear it again.

I sold another bridesmaid dress on ebay, and another is sitting in my Nana’s attic.  The dresses for my wedding are black and floor-length so hopefully they can wear them again someday, but at least I hope they sell them and recoup some of the cost.

I’ve only been a bridesmaid once, and there is no way I would wear that floor length eggplant number again. Again, if it was shorter and a more wearable color (black, silver, maybe even chocolate brown), I may have been able to.

However, the bride’s sister was quite a bit younger than us, and was able to wear it to her senior prom the next year – Ha!

Yes, but only 1 because it was a JCrew dress. I wore it to another wedding, and am planning on wearing it again when we get legally married at the court house. That being said, there are plenty of b-maid dresses that I’ve gotten rid of immediately following the wedding. It really depends on the dress. Some are made just to be bridesmaid dresses.

No. The dress I had to wear was a DB floor-length heavy polyester number, immediately recognizable because of its style and not the most flattering shape. Even shortened people would know it was a Bridesmaid or Best Man dress, so it sits in my closet collecting dust until I donate it.

I’ve been in a few weddings and I’ve never worn the dress again.  I’m one of the few people I know who actually has use for dressy dresses – DH is in the military and we have a Summer Ball and Christmas Ball every year.  On the other hand I have re-worn my long black senior prom dress for years…I graduated in 1995 and I’ve worn it in the past year or two!

I’ve reworn one dress to a formal x-mas party.  But I picked that one out and it wasn’t a bm dress.  The second and third were never reworn, by me anyway, but all have been donated, so hopefully someone got some use out of them.

i’ve been in one wedding and i’ve worn the dress multiple times since then.  it was a green j crew dress  knee length.  the bridesmaids all had the same dress too.  it’s been great for other weddings and such.  and it has pockets!

No and I haven’t met anyone else who has either, even when the dress is specifically picked out to be a rewearable style or color.

I haven’t reworn a dress yet, but one has potential if I go to a formal thing and one COULD be worn again.  The third will likely never be worn again.  But all of my bridesmaids have already made plans for when they’ll wear their dresses again, which makes me feel good about my choice.

Yes! I wore the dress from the first wedding I was in to another wedding (the bride was going to be there too, i asked her if she was cool w/ it and she was really excited that I wanted to wear it again).  I did get it shortened quite a bit.  It a DB dress, halter, satin, floor-length in clover and I shortened it to just above the knee.

I wore this dress http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_Short-Cotton-Dress-with-Y-Neck-and-Skirt-Pleating-83690_Bridal-Party-Bridesmaids-All-Bridesmaid-Dresses in Horizon to another wedding and, while I haven’t had a chance to wear it again yet, I completely intend to. I love it!!

Yes!  I was Best Woman in my best friend’s wedding.  Since I was her only attendant, I got my dress from Marshall Field’s (when Marshall Field’s still existed).  I have to go to a lot of formal events for work, so I wore it again to a gala.  I wish I had more reasons to wear it…I love that dress!
