Not only do I know that one of my bridesmaids is wearing the dress to an upcoming wedding, but the dresses were only $30 on the sale rack at Kohls! On top of that, one of my blog-friends ran out and bought the dress so she could wear it to a wedding – which she posted about here: http://beerbudgetbridesmusings.blogspot.com/2010/07/long-island-wedding-tale-cocktail-hour.html
Its all about the type of dress (this is a very cute and sexy satin dress) and the personality of your bridesmaids! Plus, for $30 – they better not have complained!

I have had good luck re-wearing them on Halloween :). A re-wore a floor length red satin dress when I went as Jessica Rabbit- it was a huge hit- and all I had to do was buy purple gloveson ebay to go with it! I have another floor length tangerine dress that I plan on re-wearing with a green wig- I am going to go as a carrot!!! But to another wedding- no, unfortunately, these dresses just feel like too much!

No, I haven’t re-worn it. I think that you should focus on having a dress as cheap as possible so that at least if they can’t wear them again, at least they haven’t spent a fortune on it. I wouldn’t be so mad to see the dress hanging in the back of my closet if I hadn’t paid 325$.

Nope never. I donated all of them to Goodwill.

I’ve only been a bridesmaid once, but I’ve worn the dress a couple of times. It was actually a top/skirt and I’ve worn the skirt a thousand times, but I’ve worn the full ensemble a couple of times. My girls wore J.Crew, and two of the three wore their dresses a month after my wedding. The third was 7 months pregnant, so I consider that a full victory.

I did. It was a 50’s portait collar number in a shimmery emerald green taffeta. Made the perfect Christmas dress that year! The other two….uh….no way. One made me look like Mary (the one who had a little lamb), and the other one was, how can I put this…hideous.

Ive never been a bridesmaid but my coworker was and wore her Bridesmaid or Best Man dress to another wedding and it looked really cute!

NO! Only because the weddings I was a bridesmaid in, the brides chose long gowns with a lot of puffy fabric on the bottom. EWW
If I wore something shorter and fitted, I’d wear it again. 🙂

I’m wearing the longer version in another wedding next week and instead to have it altered to the shorter length to wear to my Fiance annual Christmas party since that is always formal. Helps that the color is chocolate brown! (DB Truffle)

I haven’t, but two of my bridesmaids have already re-worn their dresses. They don’t look like bridesmaids dresses, though, since they were bought at department stores (brands like Calvin Klein, BCBG, etc.). They just look like fancy dresses.

yes . But that is only because I was still in high school and wore it for formals and such. I also wore it for a pageant I was in as well. And I’m pretty sure a few of my friends wore it for a formal as well. that dress got a ton of use.

I’ve only been a Bridesmaid or Best Man once in my sister’s wedding. I was the only attendant so she let me pick out any dress in her wedding color. So I got this shiny blue strapless dress with a bubble skirt that I LOVE and have worn since to a christmas party.

I have 5 of those hanging in various closets (mine, mom’s, in-laws’). Never wore any of them again, and that actually also goes for the matchy shoes I was asked to buy. I tried to be budget conscious and just asked my girls to wear any black dress (explicitly told them that if they already had one, that would be fine too), that way they could spend what they wanted and hopefully find one that they could wear again. I really hate hearing “oh, and you can wear it again!” They all look so bridesmaid-y, and that also goes for the corset tops that came with a couple of the dresses. Those were from David’s bridal and the tops are satin and obviously look like they came from a bridesmaid dress. The brides say I could wear them with jeans – no way.

I have been a Bridesmaid or Best Man once and a Maid/Matron of Honor once. I have never worn those dresses again. Both were lovely dresses, but I just haven’t had another opportunity to wear them. They are a bit fancy for any outing I’ve been to!

I was only a bridesmaid once, and the dress was floor-length red satin with a train. It’s never been worn again.
My bridesmaids have all sworn they would wear mine again, but so far no one has…it’s J. Crew, and I wish one of my friends were my size because I would wear it!
