Surprisingly (or not), I found hot power yoga (e.g. Corepower) to be the one thing that helped reduce the look of cellulite for me. I haven’t really noticed a difference with just diet changes, and I’ve even been a vegan and I almost never drink.

Strength training/toning and losing body fat are the only things that have worked for me.  It’s really difficult to avoid having any — you might need to lose body fat to the point of being unhealthy.  I usually have a bit at the top of my thigh/bottom of my butt area, too.  Oh well!

Do you drink diet soda? I’m pretty sure that started my cellulite. I’ve also read it’s associated with a deficiency in zinc.

@mrshunnybunches:  It’s like yoga with a focus on fitness and strength-building. It’s hot like bikram but rather than holding poses, there’s a lot more movement.

Here’s a few links for more info:

I noticed you’re in LA. Check out Corepower. A lot of people I know really like that one. I was going pretty frequently before I got PG.

@lilbluebird:  Also, when I did hot yoga, my skin was amazing!  I hardly ever had to use lotion it was soft all the time.

No.  There is nothing I can do.  It is genetic.  Just look at other people- skinny girls can have fat that just stores that way, while very overweight people can have smooth legs!  I have tried everything.

@jilleeann:  Oh yeah, that was definitely something I noticed. I think it was way better than any moisturizer/oil I’ve used. The hotter and more humid the class, the better!

@anon00:  Where I went the room was 98% with a high humidity.  Like mentioned before there was a great deal of movement, poses were short with quick changes to keep the heartrate up (hello cardio).  As a result you sweat… alot!  Strangly, I always felt happy when a drop of sweat dripped off my nose, hello work out!  So, your skin gets a good coating of this sweat, you’re getting stuff out of your body.  Afterwards I craved water so I was much better about hydrating than when I didn’t do yoga.  Plenty of water = happy skin.  I’m guessing it was a combination of these things.
