I have.  Usually just because it’s unflattering.  Or just stupid.  I have some friends and family who have no idea how to “filter” and just post every single picture on their camera.  So they’ll tag me when I’m not even looking at the camera or something.  My cousin’s Girlfriend posted a bunch of pictures from my wedding where I’m talking, or looking a different way, or have bright red eyes.  Yuck.

danadelphia.. you and I seem to share the same affinity for facebook.  I check it everytime I’m bored at work (that and this website of course…).

I have unchecked a couple photos, mostly because I didn’t want them to end up in my photos for various reasons.  And people have untagged themselves from mine before as well!

I do all the time… either because they are unflattering or I have a drink in both hands or something. 🙂

I’d never take offense if someone detagged a photo I had posted either (although usually I only tag a photo if I know the other person wanted me to post it in the first place).

Yep. I do it lots. And I’m also considerate about what I post or tag.

yes! I had many times where people took pictures of me drinking underage, etc, that I thought just didn’t need to be out there for the world to see, especially since family members and potential employers go on there. In my mind, a beer is one thing – a total drunk shot with a bottle of tequila, though, is being untagged!

I’ve done that many times. My sister likes to tag me in her photos – even without me on them. I untagged myself because I hate the notifications when someone posts a comment.

Yes, but not for those reasons.  I had a former acquaintance who became obsessed with me (like, really obsessed, he had severe, diagnosed, mental issues) and the situation was getting quite scary for a while.  I untagged any photos that we were both in because I hated looking through the “photos of me” section and seeing him there.  It was too creepy. I hated that they even existed, but since they were put up by a third party the best I could do was untag them so I wouldn’t have to see them.  There’s a lot more to the story than that, but I don’t want to derail the thread…

All the time. I have a few friends who do what I call the ‘photo dump’ after an event or a wedding and they just upload the entire contents of their memory card onto FB.  Not only are there always crazy unflattering pics in the mix, but also blurry ones or ones that don’t come out for whatever reason.  Last time one of the repeat offenders did this, she was blasted with FB messages, texts, etc from all different people saying to actually remove certain pics from the album, so hopefully she got the message 🙂
