No but like two times I put my RHR on my left hand for a few minutes just to see what it would be like :p

No, and I have never heard of anyone else doing this until now!

I’ve worn one only when I am in public situations where I don’t want to be hit on.

I have owned replicas of Jessica Simpson’s engagement ring (to Nick Lachey) and Kate Middleton’s engagement ring as well.

    …does that count?

My dad gave me a purity ring that I wore on my left ring finger until I got engaged, so I was kind of used to it…

I bought a ring with a certain stone size and wore it for a while to help reassure me about what diamond size I want. 1.25 cts or so is right. Anything much bigger than that would be too big for me.

    Ummm no.

Well not since I was in Jr High (Grade 8) and daydreaming about the possibility of being Engaged / Married some day.

I wore a 3-Stone White Quartz Ring and fantasized about being in Love with Mr Right.

As an Adult, I have certainly wore Rings that Men DID GIVE me on my Ring Finger as a symbol of our relationship

(Waaaay different IMO than going out an buying yourself a ring on your own)

I wore a Promise Ring from my First Hubby-2B thru our last year of Uni, until he saved up and bought me my ERing

And I wore many Rings over the years from Mr TTR that he bought me while we were Dating… I always made a point of wearing the “most recent” additiion on my Left Hand Ring Finger… any other Rings were relegated to my Right Hand.

Absolutely not! Oh, no no no no noooo….

Rightly or wrongly, I am a little superstitious about these things and I didn’t even allow myself to think of engagement rings until after Darling Husband proposed, much less get a fake stand-in. I would have felt like I was jinxing the situation.

And imagine the sheer mortification if I’d worn a fake stand-in and then somehow run into Darling Husband (then my SO) or one of his friends while out and about with the fake sparkly in place. Yikes…

@katiecat08:  no,never have. Are you sure there is a real ring coming? Or are you just hoping one will some day or what?

I wish I could have voted no, but I’m guilty! I got a gorgeous fake ring with a beautiful emerald cut stone, in the diamond candle that SO got me for Christmas last year.  Every once in a while, while I’m out and about having some alone time, I’ll slip it on my left finger and just stare at it.  I don’t do this to often, but every once in a blue moon I’ll be doing a little solo shopping, taking myself to lunch, or going for a spa day, and decide to slip it on.  I would never do this around people I know though, not even the SO. But if I’m going to be out around a bunch of stranges and it adds a little something special to my day, then why not?

Definitely not. I wanted my engagement ring to be uber special. I used to always wear a ring on my left middle finger, and before I was expecting a proposal I even moved all my rings to my right hand to clear way for the e-ring.

I wear my promise ring on my left hand, but never did it for any reasons related to an engagement. I never wanted people to think it was an engagement ring, nor did Ido it to reassure myself (I was still in high school and nowhere near ready to get married). It just seemed natural for it to go there, and I doubted people would mistake a pear, pale blue topaz for an engagement ring. Now I don’t know what I’ll do when it is replaced with an engagement ring cause the silver has molded itself to my finger- it feels strange on any other digit but I don’t want it to just sit in my jewelry box!

No. Although I have a cheap plain silver band I bought to keep safe in Tunisia which, when we were in our final year of university, I would sometimes put on in private if I was missing SO (we were at unis 2 hours apart).

I don’t think wearing a ring takes THAT much getting used to.

I don’t see how buying yourself a fake ring is supposed to make you feel reassured that he is going to propose.  He either is or he isn’t and, a fake ring on your finger isn’t going to make him do it.  I actually think some guys would find that kind of creepy.
