I wore my Maid/Matron of Honor dress from my sister’s wedding 6 years later on a cruise for formal night ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ve only been a bridesmaid once, and the dress doesn’t lend itself to re-wearing. Plus I haven’t had a ton of formal events to go to, and I have dresses that I absolutely LOVE that I don’t get the chance to wear very often. So I haven’t really thought of trying to make the bridesmaid dress work. ๐Ÿ˜‰

@SapphireSun:  These were the dresses — style and color — that I chose for my bridesmaids as well! And I know for sure (pictures on FB) that one of my friends rewore it for a formal dance event connected with her work. I was so honored that she liked it enough to wear it again.

@lealorali:  Hahah no, I haven’t reworn any of them. If I was better at sewing I’d keep a few and change up the neckline and hemline – there’s something about the standard bridesmaid cut that is so blah!

@lealorali:  Never! But I have a girlfriend who takes the bridesmaid dresses she has and has them made into pillows with the wedding date and gives them back to the bride as a gift. I thought that was a unique way to “resuse” them and also provide a meaningful gift to the bride.

@hotpinkbride:  that’s such a creative and thoughtful idea! I would love to do that for my friends, but given my lack of sewing skills, they’d probably prefer that I didn’t. ๐Ÿ™‚

@jerzepi:  Oh, she didn’t do it herself! She takes them to a tailor. I would never be able to do it myself either!

Just once, it was back when I was in high school, I wore the dress from my brother’s wedding to a formal dance we had.  As an adult though, never, I ended up donated them all.

Nope. Hideous pistachio spaghetti strapped shiny chiffon nightmare for one and then a SUPER shiny purple satin for the other. Not happening. I donated them to a prom dress place.

I have no shame – I have purposely gone out of my way to wear bridesmaid dresses again! I have been in 4 weddings and have reused three of the dresses at least three times! I always getcomplements and I openly share that I wore the dresses in weddings.

I have worn them to other weddings as a guest, to semi formal functions (annual work holiday party, fancy dinners). I’ve also worn them to other wedding events (engagement parties, batchelorette parties). They are all short dresses. The one dress that I have not yet rewore is a long formal dress, but I will take it with me on my honeymoon to wear to a special dinner. Also, all of the dresses will be used again for my 27 dresses themed wedding rehearsal – theformer brides will wear their Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses for it.

I have no idea what ever happened to my first bridesmaid dress, but I don’t think I had an occasion to wear it again.  The second one did double duty at my college formal, and the third was for a simple family wedding so I wore it sometimes for church.

My daughter and her 4 bridesmaids chose knee-length, forest-green, satin-and-organza dresses that I made for them, each with a different style of top (and at no charge to them, just in case they really wouldn’t wear them again.)  Three of the girls wore their dresses the following Christmas for college formals or company parties.  The 4th bridesmaid was my older daughter, whose dress will probably never see the light of day (or night) again, since she is a bit of a recluse.  She certainly cleaned up nice for her sister’s wedding, though.  Hopefully, someday, she’ll find true love and will have the opportunity to shine at her own wedding.

The ones I currently have are not dresses that I am able to rewear, really. The one I just wore this summer I might rewear next year, but only because I have a formal occasion for an organization. However, I don’t *love* the dress, so I may not even want to! I’m considering selling it.
