I’m having the HARDEST time finding wedding flats that I love. I cannot decide if I am looking at spenging $100-200 on flats then I should just buy flats that I can wear after the wedding or if I should just suck it up and buy some that are “bridal”.
So my question is, have you ever worn your wedding shoes again? Is it crazy to even be worried about this? I guess I’ll never wear my wedding dress again so shoes aren’t that big of a one time expense.

I only wear mine for fooling around, as it were – I bought white ones and have no reason to wear white shoes anywhere. But… mine cost 13 bucks so it was hardly a loss. Nothing would induce me to spend a hundred bucks on something I knew I wouldn’t wear twice (I was cheap with my dress, too). You could get something that can be dyed after, though, if you’re really set on a certain pair.

I haven’t! I bought Betsey Johnson flat sandals. They didn’t even show under my dress. I don’t know why I thought I’d wear them again.

I had custom Nikes, so yes, I’ve worn them again.

I did wear my shoes after the wedding, but I also wore them before. They were my great great grandmother’s, hot pink kitten heels. I wore them because they were comfortable, I liked them, and I thought it was a giant waste of money to buy new shoes that absolutely nobody was going to see. My opinion is the minority, I’m aware, but I feel like if you’re going to spend money on something (especially over a hundred dollars for a pair of shoes) you had better use it enough to get your money’s worth. I’d go for a nice pair you could wear after the wedding, and still get some joy out of.

ashes88 : such a good point! My only issue is that our wedding colors are gold, blush and emerald. I am a very neutral person and all of my shoes are black, a shade of brown or gray. I don’t think I would wear white or light pink shoes again.

I bought BM’s and I have worn them!!

Yep! I bought ivory peep toe with blinged out heels – no one saw under my wedding dress. I just wore them to a holiday party. Paid $90, I’ll rock them where I can.

Yes, I have worn them since the wedding. They are gold Jimmy Choos–they are very versatile and comfortable.

shakeyourhips : yes I’ve worn my wedding shoes several times since the wedding, they’re just really pretty sparkly mid heel shoes.
The flat shoes I had planned to have available to change into I forgot in the bridal suite so actually never got to wear them at the wedding, however I didn’t buy them for the wedding, they were just cute flats I already owned and had worn lots for like a year before the wedding (and plenty of times since).
Here’s a couple of examples of my wedding shoe use after the wedding:
I did consider the future use of all my wedding accessories, the dress understandably won’t exactly get a lot of future use but no reason why your shoes and accessories can’t transcend into your normal wardrobe.

Nope. I never expected to wear them again. I know myself and tend to wear the same 10 pairs of shoes, so I set my budget accordingly. Had I splurged, I would have definitely wanted to wear them again. There are a lot of good sales this time of year. Maybe you’ll be able to take advantage of that?

I have two pairs of shoes that I already own (nude patent leather peep-toe pumps, and gold sparkly strappy sandals) that both have about a 4 inch heel. I’m planning to wear one of them with my wedding dress, not sure which yet. I’ve already worn both of them a bunch of times and I’m sure I’ll continue wearing them after the wedding too.

I bought a pair of flats for my wedding. They are gold and very glittery. I haven’t worn them yet, but if we end up going out for New Year’s Eve, I think they’ll be perfect for that. I paid about $35 for them, so even if I only wear them a couple more times, it will have been a great deal.

- Wedding: April 2016 - Manhattan, NY
shakeyourhips : I wore my shoes out all last summer after my April wedding. They were cheap, cute, and super comfortable! Not that they could be seen under my wedding dress anyways.

shakeyourhips : I’m gonna a wear shoes I already own and have worn 100 times. I’m not a shoe girl so no point in going nuts over this plus no one will see it.
