It depends what you are looking for. We looked at pretty much everything. We could have found one for a very short, intimate basic ceremony (think vows and ring only) for around $100-250 depending on size and location. We ended up deciding that the wedding ceremony itself was really the whole point of the day so we opted for a customized ceremony through our top choice officiant and I think we paid $400. It was the best decision we made. Our ceremony was beautiful and exactly what we wanted. I definitely don’t regret spending the money.

Our wedding officiant is costing us $250, we got to choose which ceremony wording we wanted, from a choice of about 15 standards, and then we can choose from a list of well over 100 our vows and ring exchange wording or make up our own.

I am meeting with my potential officiant this Friday.  She charges $245 and she will work with us to develop all of the wording—whether through her standard templates or completely customized.  She’ll meet with us an unlimited number of times, with unlimited emails, and include a rehersal.  At first, I thought $245 was a bit high, but now I realize I’m getting a good deal!  I would suggest you find someone who will offer you to customize it…it is the most important part of the whole event, ya know?

Our officiant is $300 (including traveling fees).  Others I have looked at were between $450-500.

ETA: She’s assisting us with everything.

Ours is $350 as well (includes rehearsal and travel fees – she’s local though). She is assisting us with putting together the whole ceremony and coming up with reading ideas, vows, etc. We know her very well and couldn’t imagine anyone else doing it. I thought she was a pretty good deal but judging from the rest of the Bees, I’m on the high side?

@penguinof3:  I wanted a family member to become ordained, but no one took it serious.  They couldn’t understand how that worked.  Ugh.  hah.

We are looking at an Elopement to a Destination Wedding (Myrtle Beach) from what I’ve found on-line the going rate seems to be $ 100 to $ 750 Range, with the majority around the $ 200 to $ 300 Mark (that covers a timeframe of somewhere between 20 minute to 1 Hour)

The more expensive ones, seem to offer an assortment of OTHER Services included into the costing, such as Photography, Videos, Flowers & Decor.

For our needs we are leaning towards one of the lower priced services… and just supplying whatever else we want on our own (my Bouquet – possibly a private Photographer… for better quality pics etc)

As others have said, pricing does seem to be reflective on location… we find Myrtle Beach not terribly expensive (say vs the Quotes you got), but I think that is because the area is well known for Weddings, so there are more Officiants & competition.

Our officiant is $400 and then an extra $100 for the rehearsal. We have had one sit-down meeting with her, and get one more a few days before the wedding plus unlimited emails/phone calls for that fee.  While we are in full control of the ceremony, she gave us about a dozen ceremony templates to get us started, as well as samples of vows and readings.  She also gave us a “getting to know you” kind of interview sheet so she can get some personal details from us and see if she can work them into the ceremony.

FWIW I have found the highest value-to-price-paid in the officiant. I really feel like I’m getting my money’s worth with her!
