We’re paying $450 for a civil officiant. We checked out several, both more & less expensive; but we were also picky and wanted a someone who we liked & who only does civil ceremonies.

Most of the more-expensive officiants were booked out already, and there were several around the same $450 price point that we got a really bad vibe from.

We asked my Future Mother-In-Law who is thrilled to be our officiant =) She’s not a professional but she has officiated her brother’s wedding before. We wanted someone who knew us both to preside over our ceremony. Applying for a one-day officiant certificate (or whatever it’s called) cost $80 where I live.

Wow, I cannot imagine paying $300 for an officiant. My youth pastor from HS who is now an ordained minister is marrying us.  She didn’t ask for payment, we are gifting her $100 as well as inviting her husband and girls to enjoy the reception.

Not sure how much it’ll be yet.  I have to find out. LOL.  I don’t expect to pay more than $100.

We haven’t found one yet.  We wanted a non-religious, African-American one.  That has not been easy to find, really.  Contacted one and she was not availabe for that date.  Found 1 other, and he’s a bit above our budget, with $450 for the ceremony plus $100 for rehearsal (Chicago).  Not sure what to do . . .

Our officiant is the minister from my grandmothers church.

She is doing is for free, but we are paying for her hotel for 2 nights, since she is marrying us in a hotel and will be there for the Rehearsal Dinner and the actual wedding 🙂

Mine is normally $450, and that’s for the ceremony only, no rehearsal. He’s $650 if you want a rehearsal.

He’s VERY sought after here locally, and books up extreamly fast. He happens to be a good friend of mine and we actually planned our date around his availbilty.

ours was $350 and it included an interview, a custom written ceremony based on our views of love, religion (if any), marriage and family and all that jazz. She attended our rehearsal and organized all members of the bridal party and directed the whole thing. Well worth it!

Wow.  I was quoted between $600 and $965 for a simple, non-religious ceremony (in New York).  In the end, my cousin decided to get ordained to perform the ceremony.

Our mountain top ceremony location only has one officiant that serves it. The package deal is $1800 which includes the helicopter rides and the officiant. I believe the officiant gets about $300 from that. He seems really nice and has a cool moustache!
