@Miss Country Chick: Have you tried running? I know it sounds crazy, but I swear that as I’ve gotten into better shape my cramps have gone way down and I barely notice them anymore. I can’t explain why, but exercise definitely helped me! I suspect it’s all the endorphins exercise releases. A natural pain killer! Hope you feel better!

Yes I have! Bring your heating pad with you to work and sit on it.
Also, soaking in the tub. For some reason, being submerged in water is WAY more effective than the heaviest horse pills of drugs for me.
Hopefully those tips help. I get the worst cramps. I’ve passed out so many times. Gross, hate them. For some reason I’ve never gone on the pill though… I’m such a hippie.

@BridieBea: I totally disagree with you! I’ve had great results with castor oil and heat.

People already said all the other things I used to do, so here’s another. I never got as intense cramps as you, but when I stopped using tampons and switched to using a menstrual cup my cramps stopped.
I think a lot of the cramping was coming from the dryness of the tampons, not so much from my body itself. I couldn’t take pads, because (TMI ahead) my flow was so heavy, it was like wearing diapers! Yuck!
Switching to the cup took away the pain and left me free to do all the (non-sex) activities that I loved.
