Hello Ladies and Gents,
I’m trying to work out how to decorate our venue (In Kings Park, Perth, Western Australia). We are having our wedding in April 2015 which is Autumn and has that nice crisp air at night (provided global warming doesnt change that).
The house is heritage listed and built in the 1920’s so I really wanted to touch on the artdeco era (YAY Gatsby!) but also have it casual and romantic (so people don’t have to dress up in the era but more the decor). I wanted a ping pong table too ha ha.
what we are thinking:
To save costs we are going to have the ceremony and reception there, the dance floor under the alfresco with also some drink tables and hopefully a live band plus cocktail catering with hopefully a few pockets of seating. We are DEFF having a lot of lighting, especially hanging lights.
Please share pictures, ideas, links and anything you think that might help. I have only found 4 sites online with people that have actually got married there.
Muchly apprecaited in this time of confusion.
Ps. These are not my pictures.

@Shonzilla: Have you thought of what colors you’d like to have?

Sorry for the size of these!
Pearls, pearls, pearls! Also, a cigar bar might fit nicely with your theme.

Hello Creativeplanner 🙂
So far –
Fi I think will wear a blue suit
I’m wearing Champ with ivory lace over the top
BMs will be wearing neutrals like latte/apricot/blush
Invites will be thick kraft paper or card with script writing (can’t afford letterpressing)

Oooohh pretty! Yes I was thining a whisky and cigar bar and maybe some mints haha.
I have just bought my dress so not sure how to work that in, i looked horrible in the vintage styled dresses. Maybe a headpeice? I comes with a matching veil – I got it pre-loved for a 3rd of the price 🙂
Old jars and bottles with some flowers? LOTS of candles?

@Shonzilla: Yes, add crystal, candlesticks, lace, pearls. Peach, blush, blues, emerald, taupe are all good colors-add in some gold and/or silver.

@Shonzilla: OMG i love that venue! I think the romantic theme would work nice. Lots of flowers drapped fabric etc. Kings park in autum will be soo nice! (ps, OMG A FELLOW PERTH BRIDE! What a nice thing to stumble onto)

@sequinlove: Haha, not many of us is there – send me a message if you need any help too, spec for Perth based stuff!!
@creativeplannertobee: LOVE the blush colour of those bridesmaids dresses and the fabric!
What about MOB and Mother-In-Law – what colour should they wear? my mum wants to wear eggplant. Thinking black might be better for Fi and the Groomsmen then. Fi just looks stunning in blue!
Maybe its because Leo looks so damn good in that movie haha!
The big question, how to do this on a BUDGET! our total is 20K BUT its getting eaten up by catering.

Here are a few ideas that maybe you can get some inspiration from
If its within budget possible seeing if you can find a few chandilers to hang…..so pretty!
I think this look is beautiful for a 20s style wedding
Since you are on a budget maybe simple table sets ups with flowers and candles like this
another simple but beautiful set up….you could still give it that gatsy vibe by adding touches of gold
