Not a fan. At all.
Not a fan. At all.
If you like this style, save yourself some $$$$ and have it made with lab-created white sapphire. It will be the exact same effect at 1/100th the cost.
I loveeeeee it. Just like the rose cuts. Not sure if it would look good on but I really like it.
tomkitty : I love this too, but not on a diamond- on a morganite or sapphire or even quartz would be beautiful. You are wasting a diamond on a cut like this as this will reflect zero fire and brilliance that a diamond is capable of providing that other gems can’t quite mirror.
Like others, I think it defeats the purpose of the gemstone, in this case, diamond. But, maybe it could be pretty with another gemstone. This look is not doing it for me.
I’d never heard of a portrait cut diamond. I wouldn’t want one for my ering but I’d wear one on my right hand. With a big enough window, I’d probably also play with one of those temporary gold tattoos on my finger so it would be visible through the stone.
I have to agree with some PPs that cutting a diamond this way is not allowing it to live up to its potential. I don’t care for seeing the color of my finger clearly through my stone.
looks like a piece of glass so i would assume it was a cheap cocktail ring for funsies
I do not care for it, it just looks too plain and boring
I absolutely love portrait cuts and would love to own one as a fun ring someday!!
I loooooove the look but I don’t know that I’d spend diamond money on it, ya know? If I’m buying a huge-ass diamond it needs to be sparkly af
Not my cup of tea BUT I think it’s perfect for someone with a special tattoo on their finger! Like if you had SO’s initials on your ring finger and wanted it to be part of your engagement ring… And now that I’m thinking about it I actually love the idea and would totally do something like that on my right hand 😁
