They will get more and more frequent the closer you get to your wedding. When I was engaged, I was watching a lot of “The Nanny” reruns so I had a dream where I was Fran Fine and I was getting married to Mr. Sheffield, but the church was on a cliff, and I fell off into the water. When I swam back, some other girl took over as the bride, and I didn’t even get any cake. I know, it doesn’t make any sense, but it weirded me out and I knew it was because I was stressing over the details.

@bee bea: Oh my goodness, I had a very similar dream, but in mine I starting calling makeup artist desperately to come do my makeup.  Then the photo’s came out terribly because I forgot to put on eyeliner (after just giving up and doing my own for the wedding).  My BM’s looked exactly like the model of of my Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses the whole time and just stared at me.  When the photog released the photo’s on this website, there were NO pics of me, just of the wedding!!

I think its just the stress, so crazy!!

I’ve had at least 3. Each time I’m with dream versions of family and/or friends on my wedding day – not realizing how we got to the wedding day already. We’ve done NOTHING for the wedding, so I have to wear someone else’s dress or one someone else picked for me. Our entire wedding day is someone else’s wedding. Each time the time period, the location, and the dress/look has been completely different (one of them was totally ’80s, similar to the one you describe!). It all hits at the core of my paranoia that I’m going to completely forget to take care of something obvious before the wedding.

My dreams are SO SIMILAR to yours.  I never dream that I’m left at the altar or anything, but that I’m not ready in time.  I don’t have my hair done, or the dress doesn’t fit, or isn’t my dress at all.  I had a dream like that this week, and that there were no flowers, so I was clipping them from this random garden (and actually, they were beautiful flowers!).  I think it’s because I stress over being late to things in general hah.

I had them a year ago when we were booking our venue/picking my dress because I was SUPER stressed. Our ceremony is on the beach at 7 and I kept on dreaming that we were running late and the sun set before we could get married. I’m 8 days out and the nightmares haven’t come back, guess I’m still in my happy place.

Since people pressure me about when we are setting our date, I have been having them on a weekly basis.

The worst one I had was that I was dreaming that I lost my wedding band and e ring. I kept saying to myself ‘but you don’t have a wedding band yet’, but it didn’t matter. I was frantically looking for the band, while my Fiance kept saying ‘the e ring was more expensive!’

WTF.

I just started having these this week, and I’ve had two already. The funny thing is that I’m totally not stressed! Maybe my subconscious is telling me I’m forgetting something.

I dreamed that it was snowing, my wedding was Christmas themed (Santas everywhere), I only had one hour to decorate AND get my hair and makeup done. And I had to decorate by myself. Eff.

ETA: I just remembered the other one. It was suddenly wedding day and I didn’t have ANY of the paper products ready. I had to go and get them printed at Kinko’s and it was a huge rush. And I had asked a friend to make placecards (which I actually did in real life) and they turned out AWFUL. They were poop brown and had an olive/martini motif, which is not at all what I asked for.

I have had one, and it was the same kind of thing.  It was wedding day, and where did the five months I was supposed to have left go.  My dress wasn’t altered, the decorations weren’t made, no one knew what they were supposed to be doing.  I think it is just our subconcious way of saying “can we think about something else for a while please?”  It did spur me into action that week though. 🙂

I had one the other week, I was late for my wedding and peggy mitchel from eastenders (british soap opera) was my only bridesmaid and she was wearing a mauve zip up fleece…

Then I had to leave for a bit cause my actual real life bridesmaid was annoying me. I sent her a nasty facebook message. Then small children were throwing apple pie at me. I walked back to the venue and everyone was outside, tutting at me. A young asian dude had “framed” me for punching him in the face. My husband took off his ring (and had already changed out of his kilt) and told me he was annulling the wedding cause I was a disgrace!

Our favour boxes are white and I’m stamping them with teal ink and various wedding “icons.”  I ordered a custom stamp that has two hearts and says “Thank you for celebrating with us!”  in both English and German (German for FI’s family) to stamp on one side of the box and I’ve been waiting for it to arrive.

So last week I dreamed that the stamp had arrived and I finished stamping up all the favours, but my happiness evaporated when I suddenly realized that it was not my custom stamp on the boxes, but rather two snowmen with the words “Let it snow!  Let it snow!  Let it snow!”

That happened the week after a local girl had to postpone her wedding by a day because it was blizzarding so bad that her bridesmaids and minister couldn’t get there!

I’ve been having dreams that Fiance decides he doesn’t want to marry me anymore. Which is rediculous. He’s been getting sweeter and even more attentive as we get closer to the wedding.

I’ve had a few… but the most recent:

  • It’s my wedding day and I realize that I don’t have flowers, a wedding ring or a dress. My hair and makeup aren’t done. No stores are open so I can’t go buy anything and when I get to the church, they’ve told me I can’t have the wedding because I was so late so FH and I go to the courthouse and after we get married, he refuses to talk to me or be near me because he’s so embarassed.

You girls are actually getting sleep!?!?! I can’t get to sleep some nights, my brain just will not shut off. flowerstablenumbersinvitationskidstablecake, on and on!

I had one a couple of months ago where no one showed up to the wedding, not even the groom. like it was just me, in my dress and the hotel is completely empty, etc. i hope that’s not a sign. eck!

Worse though, I have them really bad before I photograph a wedding. but they are the standard forgetting of the camer, missing of the first kiss, me tripping over something a falling in the middle of the isle, etc.
