I lost a little weight and my cycles got more predictable after 6 months.  Definitely get into your doctor’s office for an exam (ask about PCOS.)  I know some women are most fertile the first few months off BCPs and then gradually have more irregular cycles due to hormonal issues.  You might want to consider going back on BCPs for 4-6 months and then stopping and TTC right away the first few cycles off BCPs.  But definitely get checked out by a doctor first.

Did you lose weight on the pill?

@candy11:  I actually noticed the opposite. I lost weight after quitting the BCP, but that was 7 years ago. If you have a low body temperature, weight gain and your periods are irregular, I would get my thyroid checked out.

Most people gain WITH the pill, and lose weight w/o it. I’m about 15 pounds heavier on the pill than not.

@candy11:  I gained 3lbs in the first few weeks after going off the pill. I didn’t start taking my BBT until after I went off the pill but according to my naturpath my BBT is too low. I’m in the low 97’s each month. I just had a horomone test done and found out that I’m estrogen dominant & have super low progesterone levels (we were researching/testing for a reason behind my migraines.) So I started using Progonol cream at night. (It’s only been 3 days so I’m not sure how it’s going to play out yet.) I have an appt with my OB on Wednesday.

I have gained some weight, but I think it may be due to emotional eating. I’m finding that TTC makes me want to eat all of my emotions!

I’ve gained about 5 lbs since stopping the pill, but I’m not convinced it was because of it though.  Before and during, I kept a constant weight.. I think I’ve just been eating worse the last few months.

@candy11:  hmm if you are exercising and eating reasonably healthfully but still gaining weight it would probably be worthwhile to see a dr. I know that my weight gain is due to not eating well and not having good portion control, but if there isn’t something you can really pin point as contributing to your weight that could be cause for concern.

I actually lost about 5 lbs after getting off the pill. My cycles were all over the place the first 6 months and after that everything went back to normal. All in all I am so glad to be off the pill, I just feel so much better.
