My ring was a custom design so returning was not am option for me. But I looked at several CAD’S and a wax mold before the jeweler casted the ring. So as long as your happy with the design and are sure it’s what you want, going custom is a great option! There are sooo many amazing custom jewelers online, so I recommend that you contact some other company’s with the design your wanting and see what kind of quote they give you.

Could you not find the stones online that you want and find a jeweller to set it in the design you want, that way you will have full control over the final product.

trinibride0417 :  What site is this?  I used an online site and my ring was mostly customized and the ring was returnable if I wasn’t happy with it.

Yeah even sites like brilliant earth and james allen, where you can customize your ring to an extent lets you return it. It doesn’t sound good. What is the site?

Mine is a custom A. Jaffe but I had 30 days to return it as long it was unsized ( from what they had already made it ) or altered from the way they originally gave it to me .. I was fine with that I wasn’t about to return it anyway .. Good luck on the ring journey! 🍀🍀🍀

I’m actually not sure if mine was returnable, because it was custom. It was made wrong the first time, so I sent it back to be made correctly, and that wasn’t an issue. Are you afraid it will be made wrong, or are you afraid you just won’t like it in person?

trinibride0417 :  My ring was custom done and my jeweler  remade the entire ring, because I didn’t like the initial ring produced.

So even with a custom ring, I would opt to find someone who would offer a refund or produce a custom ring with a better customer service policy.

trinibride0417 :  If its a worry of not liking it in person I would for sure ask for the setting to be sent un-set for you to see. Sometimes the CADs look thinner/or/thicker then the real ring will be. I woudln’t worrk about the stones really, and I understand your worry of miss placing something.

So why not just ask for the unset ring to be sent to you?

My ring was custom as well. The jeweler had no refunds but exchanges if you did not like the ring once received. You had three days to decide. I was nervous as I could not try it on first. The jewelers reviews were phenomenal and I liked multiple pieces of his so I took a chance and don’t regret it. I totally understand your unease.

trinibride0417 :  I love africagems! I bought the colored diamonds for the band of my ring from them. They are so great to work with!
