I can’t say that I’ve ever seen a dress like that bustled. It would probably depend on the material how it would look. If the material is light enough, you could probably get away without having a bustle.

hi! i’ve got a flowy empire waist gown too. my 1st fitting is next wk – i’ll let you know what the seamstress suggests (altho i don’t have much of a train so i might just leave it dragging). if you find a solution in the interim, will you let me know pls? thx!

I honestly think that the pick-up bustle would look better, where it bustles up at one point.  I’m not a fan of the french bustle and don’t think it looks all that great unless you have pick-ups.

konariley: how did it work out w/ your seamstress? did you see the royal bustle that was posted earlier this week? that seems like fun but might be too much for such a light dress
